Hi Admin, I have a couple of comments about the board. I only noticed a week or so ago the "new posts" link at the top of the page and I find it really useful as a quick way of looking at all the currently active topics. In fact I am often using it as the "favorite" rather than the BB home page. I do have one query though. The heading of one of the columns is "started by" but in fact it seems to contain the name of the last poster. Several times when I make a posting I have checked the box for "receive email notification when replies are made..." but in practice I have never received an email! Should this work?

Come to think of it, that function has never worked for me, either, Anthemis.

I have been using the "New Posts" for a while now but sometimes I find when you have made a post it doesn't always show straight away, it shows on the main board straight away but not always under "New Posts", can sometimes take up to 20 minutes to show on there. As for the email part I have never bothered with that on this new version, when I first joined the board on the older version it used to take me ages to read and delete all the emails, then find myself reading it all over again.

Thank you so much for pointing out the "New Posts" button - I hadn't noticed it - how useful, I have made it my favourite too. I have just made 2 posts and they both showed up on it straight away, perhaps I've just been lucky! Jak [Edit] Tempting fate there - this post didn't show up - typical! [Edited on 27/03/2006]

I use 'new posts' all the time - find it useful for when I'm being vague and don't notice that there are new posts in the main list. Sometimes new posts show up straight away and sometimes they don't. Oh yes, Admin says that the issue with gaps being inserted into links should be solved now. Let's give it a go: http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/y/yellowhammer/index.asp - well, that seems okay :-) [Edited on 27/03/2006]

Anyone else noticed the latest post doesn't always show up as top of the list of posts? its sometimes second or third and others that were posted earlier are above it

Hi Anthemis, Thanks for the feedback on the new posts. I will investigate. Also I will check the email notification. We seem to be getting notification on the posts to our accounts. Best wishes, Admin

Anyone noticed 'new posts' is not showing them any more? get an error message about it not loading properly.

"New Posts" doesn't seem to be updating at all anymore. The last posts it lists on my PC are from February. Jak

Seems alright to me, but I realised that if you save it as a "favorite" you need to refresh it when you come back on anotherday , as it is saved as the new posts for the date you saved. Pity!

Hi Anthemis, Glad that you like the new posts page. I will have a look at the email settings. We are certainly getting lots of emails at the moment. I am not sure why you are not. Best wishes, Admin

No I no longer have it saved as a "favourite" I sussed that one out quite quickly. I click on the "New Posts" link and the latest posts are February. Jak
