Not sure I've done it quite right.

What lovely garden pics Phot's thanks for taking the time to upload and show us all. There are quite a few I recognise but can't remember their names. I noticed chilli peppers, nasturtiums, foxgloves?, fuchsia, berberis? rudbeckia?..all very colourful. I used to have the red ones with a yellow centre.

I'll be needing to plant my spring bulbs very soon otherwise they will be late.Smile

The chilli is the medusa one I bought from Wisley a while ago - as you'll see we've eaten most of the peppers, but I've kept a few for seeds.

There weren't any foxglove flowers - not sure which ones you were thinking of there. If it was the blue bell shaped ones, they're campanula persifolia (which I may have spelled wrong) There are some orange pyracantha berries that you may have mistaken for berberris.

    You're right with the others.

Well done to both BB and Richard for doing some clearing up in the garden today.  I've been quite lazy today and the only clearing up I did was after Sasha.

Lovely pics Phot's, you have loads of colour in your garden.

Fab Photo's Phots!! That is a nice Acer - how old is it?

Thanks Sue, but I only managed the front garden today, I'm hoping to do the back garden tomorrow morning!! I have finally taken the Begonias into the garage and chopped off the top growth which had just started to yellow. They have been lovely this year and I wouldn't want to loose them. The weather forecast keeps threatening frosts but it hasn't materialised yet. I think they (forecasters) are just covering their backs in case we get a frost and they didn't forecast it!!

I don't blame you having a lazy day Sue.Yes  Is Sasha getting used to going for walks again now?

Yes, Sasha is loving her walks and it hasn't taken her long to start her whistling and whining at the usual time for going if I happen to be a couple of minutes late in taking her out.

I took my begonias out of the baskets during the week and have put them in the greenhouse to start drying off.

Good luck with the van emptying Richard, hope you have room to put everything.

Well the van is empty now Sue and all items squashed in the house until we can find where to put them all.
We all got stuck in and emptied it all in an hour so that was good.
Its getting that time now to think about getting the tender plants in the greenhouse soon.Smile

Sunny here too. Can't do much gardening as the outlaws are coming for lunch.

The acer (disected leaves) is 10 years old - I brought it from my last garden. It's the one that grows into a small neat mound (Assuming an over ambitious gardener hasn't put in too many plants and let one side get a bit smothered Embarrassed) I've tried growing other acers here, but the soil must be too alkaline and they die a slow lingering death.

The Liquidamber looks very like an acer but doesn't seem to mind the soil. We planted that, the mulberry and the willow the year we moved in (2003) all are doing well and make the garden look quite mature, I think.

Aaargh moving. I'm never doing that again.

Hi All, That's a lovely Acer Phot's, and they look particularly lovely at this time of year don't they?

Bless Sasha, it didn't take long for her to return to her routine, Sue!

I have managed to get a lot of the back garden done Richard . I have given the lawn what I hope is it's last cut and got up all the leaves, sorted the lily pots out and put tons of dead stuff in the compost bin. Best of all, I pulled my first parsnip! I couldn't resist any longer. It was a nice size too and I have just scrubbed it and chopped it ready to go in beside the chicken later on. Stick out tongue

That's good that you have been able to be busy in the back garden BB and get it sorted, I expect your compost bin is full up now with all that dead stuff. Hope you enjoy your parsnip and chicken.

It sounds as though you will be having a houseful there Phot's and being kept busy today.

The weather is still nice and sunny here, just the job for taking Sasha for a walk Sue -I'll be going out in the back garden shortly and removing what is left of the runner bean plants and putting the sticks away.Smile

Hope you enjoyed your first parsnip BB, no matter how many times I've tried, I just cannot get parsnips to germinate.

Did you manage to find room for all the extra bits Richard? it must have kept you busy for a while.

It was nice and sunny here today and I got some tidying up done in the garden.

Yes thanks Sue, I did enjoy the parsnip.I also roasted a couple of slices of butternut squash which were nice too. I wonder why your parsnip seed doesn't germinate? I know that they are slow to germinate. I sowed mine in the spring at the same time as beetroot and peas. The beetroot and peas were well away before I saw the first signs of the parsnip. I was starting to think they were duds and then they suddenly started shooting.

It seems we have all been tidying in the garden today. Did you get your runner bean plants up Richard?

Hello everybodyBig Smile, I am tired today,I got woken at 3;30am by the rude new neighbours across the roadAngry apparently they had some sort of "shindigg" which turned into a druken brawl during the small hours, boys and girls were involved in the fracas, I hate rude neighbours I think they might be chavs, but the house is supposed to be for someone with special needs, so they might be ill? The stupid hospital has brought my appointment forward to this stupid weekend, they said i can probably go home the same day but i think it will be another trick and i'll have to stay in again. Tomorrow Oh is supposed to be taking me into the next town which has more shops than this one horse outfit where I live. It's all undercover so it won't matter if it rains or notSmile I am going to buy Sally a collar for going out with, normally she doesn't wear a collar but I thought i would get her a nice one for when we go out, I like those ones that look like they are made with diamonds.
