There is a 30% chance of rain here today Sue. I have the local weather forecast for our region emailed to me, (from a  free website). I find its quite useful to know the local weather forecast.

Our  lights keep flickering, I'm not sure if its due to the low energy bulbs that I've put in recently or not, so I'll be changing them back to see if there is a difference.

We have the energy saving bulbs too and none of them have ever flickered.  Perhaps there's something wrong with the leccy supply up your way Richard or a storm brewing.

Thanks for the offer of the seeds Richard, I would love some if and when you have any to spare.Smile I have had the day off work to try and catch up with things a bit and have been grocery shopping this am. I have also pulled up the courgette plant to make a bit of room for other stuff to go in (I'm fed up of courgette now anyway!)

We are forecast rain tomorrow I think which is badly needed. As long as it doesn't start raining and then not stop for 6 months!!Surprise

The lights have been flickering for a week or more now Sue, its since I changed them. It looks as though we may get some rain. Our outside table is absolutely piled up with things ready for our daughter to take  to a car boot sale on the weekend. Its all under the gazebo so it won't hurt if it does rain-I think the gardens could do with a bit now-(but hopefully not too much).

We have just crossed BB. Hope you have a nice day off. I'd be glad to send you some aster seeds when they die off BB-I'll put your name down.

We were the same with runner beans, fed up with them, we gave some away to our neighbour and OH doesn't like them frozen, so next year I will grow a few less and try to grow them in succession. I can use the room to grow something else instead then.

Its dull, damp and horrid here today, a heavy non-stop drizzleSad

Lovely pics Richard, I use photobucket too, and still get confused everytime I use it! Once you've got some resident frogs, you'll find that they will come back every year to spawn, if they know its going to be there for good!

How's Sasha doing now Sue, now she's off the meds???

For those of you that wanted it, the link to the bread and butter pickle is here; www.recipezaar.com/71203  I find that 4 large/long cucumbers is about right for the cup measurement, I also use a mandolin to slice them, it would take forever otherwise, and also it gets the slices all the same thinness.

How is your OH doing BB? I've got the day off from visiting my mam today. We've had a new carpet fitted in the hall, as Percy chewed a gianormous hole in it the other dayAngryFirst time he'd been left home alone, when OH came to pick me up from the station! Lesson learned, he will now have to be left in the kitchen if we are both out at the same time, hopefully he can't bite through the floor tiles!!!!

Send some of that heavy drizzle down this way please Susiq, it's safe to do so now that I've got the washing inSmile

Sasha is doing really well, she had her last tablet on Wednesday evening which I would have thought would have worn off by now and she's not limping so it's looking goodBig Smile

Naughty Percy for chewing your carpet, hope he doesn't do any damage in the kitchen - when Sasha was a pup and was shut in the kitchen, she chewed one of the chairs and pulled the little knobs off the washing machine, as well as eating fruit bowls...

Thanks for the recipe, Susiq, it looks good. Reckon you could use courgettes in place of cucumbers...

What naughty dogs Smile I wonder if Portia watched him chewing the carpet?

Good to hear that Sasha is healing up well, Sue. It won't be long now before she can go out for a walk.

We could do with some heavy drizzle as well. The forecast rain never materialised and it's been too many weeks now since we've any.

One week and 5 days til Sasha can go walkies again, and counting down as I'm missing the walks too.  To start off with, it will only be very short walks (5-10 minutes) so it will be a while before we actually get to going back over the park.

OH is not too bad Susiq, thanks for asking. He has requested a fish & chip supper from the chip shop this evening so I will have to stop off on my way there!!Smile The hospital say it's O.K. as he needs to re-gain some weight.

Not long until you and Sasha can go walkies Sue. The time, seems to me, to have gone quite fast. Maybe not to you though?

It does seem to have gone quickly - from here, anyway. I bet Sasha will enjoy getting out again.  Will it be hard to stop her leaping about Sue?

Are you having fish and chips too, BB?

We are out tonight to the thatcher's harvest party. They're cooking a whole lamb and we said we'd go early and help turn the spit Smile They've had their apprentices working all week on building and thatching an outside bar - looking forward to seeing how they've done it. If it's anything like the composting toilet, it should look pretty good - even better if it's got beer in it!

What a naughty boy Percy! chewing a hole in the carpet! Good idea Susiq to put him in the kitchen next time-hope he doesn't chew his way through the door. Thanks for the comment on my garden pics. We have been pricing up the items for the car boot sale so that will clear a bit of room for us in the house after they've gone (hopefully). Its starting to drizzle a bit here now-glad you got your washing in Sue.
Those fish and chips sound good BB, it sounds as though your OH is improving-will you be sampling some yourself. We are having a take away Indian tonight from the local pub, our daughter's friend is joining us and is stopping over so we will all be having some wine and a few jars I expect. It sounds as though a good night is on the cards for you also Miranda.

YEOOWCH Sue - not what I wanted to hear about dogs in the kitchen! However, really glad to hear Sasha is doing well off her meds. Hopefully you will be back to normal walks really soon.

Pleased your OH is doing well BB, the fact your OH has asked for fish and chips must be a good sign of getting his appetite back, so hopefully also means he's on the road to recoveryYes

No Miranda, Portia wasn't a spectator at Percy's sport of carpet chewing! - she was happily in her bed in the bedroom (she needs to be away from his constant chewing of her tail and ears if we're not around!) Just wish he would bloody learn from her good behaviour!! Your harvest party sounds absolutely fantastic, you always make me think you would be better than Hugh Fearnley whatsisname at doing the total country thing! Hope you have a great eveningBig Smile

Yes Susiq, I quite like indian food now since I had my first taste of it a month or two ago.
OH has been cooking some bakestones (welshcakes) this afternoon-she soaks the sultanas, currants and cherries in milk for a few hours first so that they are moist-I usually manage to sample a couple when they are still hot!
