DSCN9770.JPG Hello everyone At the beginning of the Gardeners World programme of July 31 broadcast there were shots of some lovely white flowered plants. They were not named or discussed; they just appeared for short periods between dialogue. I have emailed gardenersworld@bbc.co.uk three times but they will not reply. I would so much like to know what these plants are. Perhaps someone can identify them? I see I'm allowed to attach only one photo and I've chosen to attach a close-up photographed off the TV screen.

With my limited knowledge I would suggest they are Phlox but wouldn't have a clue which one. I think this one is probably about 15-18 inches in height?

Thank you! In the programme they did appear to be around that height, perhaps taller but only slightly. Moreover, I have just googled Phlox and I see a resemblance to a variety called paniculata ‘David’. I hope this is it!! Thanks again, most appreciated.

You're welcome. I don't often know the plants but I remember from childhood that if you picked a flower from it's stem and sucked it, it would be beautifully sweet. Now I know why as it must be full of nectar!
