Saw this last year and have not been able to ID so far. Best guess is dianthus? About 18" tall growing beside gravel path in grassland. Any help appreciated

Not a brilliant photograph it would help if one of the flowers was fully open. Does the foliage smell?

Looks, to me, like a member of the daisy family, possibly a mayweed or chamomile. Have a look here https://www.plantlife.org.uk/uk and here http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife/species-explorer/wildflowers for pictures.
