How to get rid of rabbits

  Reply | Contact My father used to tell me of this way to get rid of rabbits. Obviously one needs a large pinch of salt. In the veg garden plagued with rabbits - find a brick and wrap it in lettuce, place on ground and sprinkle pepper on the top of the lettuce covered brick. Along hops Mr rabbit, he sees the lettuce and starts to eat it, the pepper sets off a terrific sneezing fit, then Mr rabbit gives one enormous sneeze and bangs his head down on the hard brick!! Which kills him outright! Well it will give you all a laugh anyway Jay

Digger's inventions are crazy (in a good way) I don't have a problem with rabbits; pigeons however can be annoying. I like the pigeons, I just don't like them scoffing my veggies. (I like scoffing pigeons, preferably stuffed with fresh peas and served with new potatoes and a herb sauce) Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

  Reply | Contact ooooh no.  Pigeon wrapped in bacon and then baked at a low temp in the oven in red wine is the best way to enjoy this pest! Rabbits - when I was at horticultural college, we used to plant trees and shrubs around our nursery fields that we knew rabbits wouldn't eat and that would tend to keep them at bay.  We also used to dig a trench and errect a proper rabbit fence (made of chicken wire).  This certainly kept them out, and if any got in, then it was rich picking for the BBQ!!
