On a long weekend break in Greater London this weekend.

Is there a list somewhere of gardens open to the public, perhaps just for the period of the Olympics,

which are newly developed or specials not normallyopen to the public?

We had a great weekend of wandering and only got a little wet. Our big surprise was finding the large number of wildflower flower beds displayed this year. The seed sellers must be smiling too.

Waddesdon Manor and Polesdon Lacey had stunning low height old fashioned colourful plants. I could put some of those to good use near to home. Wisley had a nice display of much larger plants in their large new bed near the orchard tea shop, forming an unofficial maze for very young children.
