I would like to grow a scented jasmine along the path to my flat. When is best to do it? Should I do it now so it can establish itself before the new year, or wait until spring? The path is quite shaded - will jasmine be OK without a lot of direct sun? Thank you!

     Hi,

Alot will depend on what type of jasmine you decide to plant. The RHS have a great article on cultivating jasmines (http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/Profile.aspx?pid=291). It is best to have full sun exposure but I understand that the winter jasmine is more tolerant and will grow in partial sun.

    Best Regards

    Gavin
