    Hi Guys,

Im totally new to this site and this is my first posting, I have some ivy growing outside in a window box and last month I found this shoot emerging along side, it looked interesting so I transplanted it and now it's growing well, before I consider any kind of training or treatment I need to know what it is and I havn't a clue, Please can anyone here give me some idea, The seed was attached the base of the stem and was cream, flat and about 1cm long.

    Thanks

    Claude

Could it be a cherry tree? Hard to tell from a photo and would be easier if I could feel the leaves - of course I might be completely wrong.

    Hi Deb,

thank you so much for your help, I certainly hope it is, because I have tried to grow one of these through cuttings propogation for years and always failed!, I think a bird may have deposited the seed, I don't know but any tree would be so exciting! Thanks again.
