My summer fruiting raspberry canes are loaded down with fruit but it is absolutely tasteless. Is this a result of the lack of sunshine hours coupled with the record rainfall for June? Incdentally, my autumn fruiting ones are fruiting now - I've never experienced this before. Anyone any ideas?

Yes..we've had so much rain..and not that much sun and that results low amounts of natural sugars in raspberries..well, in any fruit really. The weather has been 'up and down' this year, it is no surprise plants don't know if they are 'coming or going'. It is not unusual to have autumn types out early...particularly if you have some last year's canes left unpruned ...old canes will always come to fruit much earlier than newly grown canes.
