Have you been taking pictures of my front garden Popup? It's Hypochoeris radicata which is more commonly known as cat's ear. The small patch of lawn in my front garden is riddled with it (and the other weed you have there too) and it's very hard to get rid of.

Easy to see the connection with 'Hawkbits' The chopped of petal ends etc.
Sue. I believe you are correct. Re. Your lawn. Perhaps you should get Alan Titchmarsh to lay some artificial grass for you.

You saw the same programme I did Mike, I couldn't believe it when I saw that. As my front lawn is only a tiny one, and the only watering that ever gets done in the front garden is when it rains, the weeds do help give it some greenery when the rest of the grass dies off in the summer...

The other weed is familiar, though I don't know its name, and it's doing especially well this year. I don't mind weeds in a lawn as long as they aren't prickly; I like to see the flowers and know that they provide food for the bees.

Yep, this is certainly a year for weeds being at their most rampant!
I saw that programme too Sue and Mike. Ha ha, a friend of mine had that laid, and couldn't understand when he got big bumps in it - the poor moles couldn't understand either why they couldn't move the grass above them!

The lawn in my back garden has more 'weeds' in it than the front, but again, because the greenery stays there when the rest of the grass dies off in the heat, I leave them for the bees to feed on. I have loads of clover and daisies which the bees do love but I don't actually class those as weeds. Your poor friend Susiq Does he have to peel the 'turf' back to level out the bumps and when you get the big downpours, does all the rain drain away properly? as I would imagine things would be a bit slippery for a while.
