I'm sorry the photo isn't great but hopefully some one can help me in ID'ing this plant! It's tall about 30cm, very fine hairy stem which is very itchy too touch! Leaves along stem.

    Hi, you might start by searching for Echium. It's a bit hard to tell without seeing the foliage! Maybe someone else will know it for sure.

    Echium, thank you! :-) At first I thought it was a tufted vetch but the flowers head were different. Thanks!

    vipers bugloss (it is the most likely wild echium in the UK. Very itchy and very pretty.

    For the Snark was a boojum you see
