Hi, I'm looking for information on Robinsons nursery - not the vegetable one but an older company that used to sell perennials. I've been doing some research on tanacetum coccineum (or pyrethrum) and I found that the two companies that really developed them were Kelways and Robinsons. There's lots about James Kelway online, but nothing about Robinson, whoever he was. His name only survives in Robinsons Red, Pink, and Mixed tanacetums. Thanks for your help, Sheena

    Hello Sheena.

The names Kelway and Robinsons are familiar to me.  probably over the years I have dealt with them.  In the eighties and ninetes, much of our nursery companies were gobbled up by the Dutch.  I will do my best to research your request.  Have you tried thye RHS Plant Finder?

    Mike.

Do you mean William Robinson on wiki? Some of his books are on Amazon (reprints and out-of-print books). If that's not him, do you have any more info to go by?

No, unfortunately. As far as I can find out, Robinson's was bought by Coolings, so I've emailed them to see what they can tell me. I was hoping someone might know a bit more.
