Hi all I am a newbie, but just wondered if anyone was off to the NEC this week.  We are going there on Saturday, have been for the past two years and love it.

If you are going, what are your looking for and what is your favourite part of the exhibition?

Looking forward to a chat to see what you are all interested in!  There really is something for everyone there :)

My son is treating me, I have never been before and not likely to go again. We are going friday. |I couldn't cope with the thought of going at the weekend, Kids go free, and ll those kiddies bored and playing up. I have a little shopping list of plants that I can ask the sellers about. But not plants you see very often for sale. I'm looking for a pink Phlomis, and possibly a decaisnea, blue bean tree. plus anything else that takes my fancy.

What a lovely treat, am sure once you get there you will thoroughly enjoy.  Dont forget you have access to the Good Food Show too.  We are treating ourselves to a lunch at the Masterchef restaurant which should be good.

Good luck with finding your plants, the main exhibition area has lots of choice, Carol Klein was in there last year.  Didnt see a lot of children there when we went, so think we will be safe on Saturday!  Am hoping the weather is nice as I always love seeing the themed gardens - there were some very clever ones last year. I used to go to the Good Homes Show a few years back, and have only recently got into gardening more so this was an ideal day out.

There is also a lot going on in the main hall, with wildlife and birdlife information.  Am sure once you are there you will get the bug!

The blue bean tree sounds interesting.

Hello there how did you get on on Thursday!  We managed to get there yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Masterchef dining experience.  A quick sprint to the flower and plant exhibition over the way and a walk round the gardens before it rained and we managed to dodge the drops.

Saw the editor from Gardeners World as we had tickets sent with our main tickets (ordered quite a while ago so we had really good seats too, two rows from the front.  Very helpful hints on patio pot growing of herbs etc, and fruit.  Not much on the wildlife front though which was a bit disappointing but nevertheless we had a browse round the shopping lane, where a few things caught our eye!

    How about you?
