I need to buy an automatic system for watering a school greenhouse over the summer break and wondered if anybody could recommend a supplie, product or had experience to share. The greenhouse is approx 15m x 3m with beds running down either side and has a mains tap. Please don't suggest I get someone to come in to do it maunally as this won't be possible!

I have Hozelock Aqua Pod system to water all my flower tubs. Plus a leaky hose pipe ( cant remember where purchased) for the main beds, this hose can be fitted to the Hozelock timer control. I set the timer for half an  hour 3 times a week for when I am away for several weeks, it keeps my plants. Worth getting Hozelock instruction sheets off line.

As an oldie.  I have to watch the pennies.  Up until two years ago when I lost my  wife.  We used to caravan in the New Forest.  I rigged up an automatic system.  I live in an upstairs flat.  Attaching an outdoor tap and supply via the bathroom systern.  I have the non return flow  tap.  Half inch hosepipe, permantly fitted.  The hose runs the length of the garden to the greenhouse. In the greenhouse, attached to the framework. I have a double outlet tap.  One outlet enables me to manually fill a water can etc.  The other outlet has a timer unit fitted.  From the timer unit.  A length of half inch hose is fixed/suspended from the roof bars.  At intervals of about 18inches to two feet. I punctured the hose with a bradawl, then I screwed a valve into each hole.  Parts required.  Self puncturing outdoor tape assembly.  Cost. under  £10.00  Outdoor tap, a fiver.  Hose, dependant on length.  Additional non-return tap  five or six pounds.  Timer unit.  I think I paid around twelve pounds, off ebay.  Lengthb of hose to suit greenhouse length and width. Perhaps two packs of Hoselock sprinkler valves..  Email me if you want to know morfe.  Mike.
