I would love to make my own compost, but unfortunately my garden is too small to accommodate a compost bin. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend what to buy from a garden centre or B&Q/Homebase etc.

First of all..what do you want the compost for?

At the moment there is such a difference in quality of diffferent composts..its almost 'head ache' situation to find right/decent  stuff, so if we know what you are going to grow it is easier to say what to/not to recommend.

Just for example..Wickes multipurpose has been for years half decent 'cheap' compost..this year they (like many other suppliers) have changed into their 'improved recipe' and  its not very nice stuff at all,,not good for containers..not suitable for seed sowing..but will do as 'soil conditioner' spread straight into ground..Huh?..and they call it 'multipurpose'..Sad
