    Hi all,

We're looking for 13m of a 6 - 8' hedge to provide privacy from a neighbour.  We're thinking of mixing Photinia Red Robin and a Pittosporum. and perhaps a Cornus..... what else can we add to provide variety?  It'll be in full sun, and is protected by a trellis fence.

In another area of the garden (over about 10m) we were thinking of putting some Escallonia in to create a 5' hedge - any recommendations on which types look good together and what else we could mix it with for year round interest?

    Thanks in advance

    Kate

i wouldnt put the cornus in with a mixed evergreen hedge as it is deciduous and will be a gap of bare stems over the winter. escallonia sounds like a much better option plus you can mixed up the cultivars a little and have different colour flowering.
