Did anyone see the new Blue Peter garden on the BBC news weather report this morning... How Boring... Too many hard surfaces, straight lines, lack of height, and just how many Phormiums .. They really suffered last year in the bad weather we had, so will be interesting to see how they get on. The new garden as no scope for wildlife.. The design and planting scheme is something you find typically on a industrial estate.. Whoever commissioned the designer should be dealt with severely.... Please bring back the original walled garden.....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/articles/princess-anne-opens-new-blue-peter-garden-in-salford I bet Percy Thrower is turning in his grave... The only thing I like about it, is the fact they have carefully dismantled and re-constructed the original sunken Italian garden complete with pond.... Was reading about the original walled garden at the BBC centre and apparently it fell into disrepair after the gardens were severely vandalised in 1983... Apparently Percy Thrower broke down in tears when he saw the scale of the destruction.... Link below showing the destruction. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuZIFvtx228&feature=related Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur footballer Les Ferdinand admitted to being one of the vandals.... That story is below.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/983304.stm
