10 things I like doing in my garden. Having breakfast with my nightie on. Having lunch on the terrace. Lying in the sun beside the kitchen door and falling asleep. Having some very nicely chilled white wine on a spring or summer evening with a friend or two before the midges are out. Finding a frog. Lying on my back looking at the sky. Looking at the bumble bees. Showing my grandchildren how to plant seeds. Smelling the roses and honeysuckle. My garden is a constant source of joy and learning.

The list goes on but it's all frozen solid at the moment so it has to bee planning how to spend far too much money with thee seed catalogues.

    Oh! Greenfrog,

From your most descriptive writing about yourself.

Have you ever thought, considered yourself to write prose?

Greenfrog.  Whatever caused you to choose such a nomme de plume?  Your writings tell so much more.  Please.  May I tell, what I see of you, in your text.

Obviously, unless blessed with an unusual ability to display certain pldeasures.  You, obviously have a nice garden.  Your daily access to it is unhindered.  Begining atg the dawn of a new day.  Yes!  you desire so much, to be part of your garden.  Perhaps.  Not at the present time of snow, cold and not so comfortable season.  You truly love, appreciate, and most of all.  Your garden is to you.  Like a Greek God of former teachings.

Well my friend.  There are so many of us on this forum who, value so much our graden space, whether large acreage or the postage stamp size bit of land.

Greenfrog.  Please.  Continue to dream away.

We here on the forum.  We are with you.

    Mike.

I also have my beautiful garden. Garden is the only place where you can fill relax. Specially in the summer nights I can feel calm and cool in my garden.

I have to agree, finding that little bit of sun and enjoying the fruits of ones labours - checking out the plants on a sunny morning, before anyone else is up;  having my tea on the patio just before the sun goes down - remembering what the grass looked like when my sun used to play football there!   Dosing on the sun lounger - watching the dragonflies hopping about over the pond -  cloud watching - watching the birds on our feeder and occasionally a cheeky squirrel!  Most of all, being able to forget about work and the stresses of daily life and let time stand still - even if just for a moment :)

This time of the year garden/gardening can be a source of bit of stress to me..as well as being gardener (job), I'm gardener in rest of the time too (as hobby). I have long list of thigs that 'must be done' yesterday..Huh?, but yesterday I decided that 'sod it, its going to be my day today'Big Smile. And I had rare opportunity to potter about and have a sniff around garden..straighten odd bloom here and there, see and hear birds about, taste odd veg and flower, sit down for cup of coffee next to pond and see newt puddling around, tickle my chilli flowers and 'waste' lot of time with them and just stare at them and see all the different forms of flowers and colours. Totally 'AHHHH'-day..sensory over load and stress just disappeared. Its good to take time out and see all the beauty around before its gone and we have foot of snow again..Ick!
Now I'm ready again for those 'duty calls' jobs that are waiting to get done.

Gardening is a great teacher teaching gardeners two subjects that matters most in life – "patience" and "perseverance".
