Unknown Plant

  dill the dog Location: nottingham Joined on: 04 May 2011 Posts: 24	Reply | Contact A friend of mine asked my what this plant was, I am a keen gardener however have never come across this before. You can't see it in the picture but the plant has now flowered and grown fruits which have spikes on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It is about three feet high. Thank you.

The pods contain a surprising number of seeds and it's best to remove them before they split.  There is an amusing story related to it, concerning some British soldiers' experience with the plant in 1676: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datura_stramonium#History
