A friend of mine asked my what this plant was, I am a keen gardener however have never come across this before. You can't see it in the picture but the plant has now flowered and grown fruits which have spikes on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It is about three feet high. Thank you.

That plant pops up in the gardens from seed spread by birds and it often surprises people. The pods contain a surprising number of seeds and it's best to remove them before they split. Great article Miranda, thanks for the link! It makes you wonder how come the birds aren't falling out of the trees
Guess you won't be including those fruits in a salad then Dill the Dog!

Yes thanks Miranda , I have heard of jimson weed but had no idea it was Datura.
