Happy new year to you, too, dave - hope you had a good christmas!  All I'm doing at the moment is putting my seed potatoes, which arrived this morning, to chit in egg boxes on the kitchen windowsill.  And thinking whether I can put a tiny greenhouse in a corner of my garden, which even with a paraffin heater would give me a bit more scope...

Haven't got a wall, I'm afraid.  Do have a corner with a big fence - I'll try to take a pic in the next couple of days so you can see what I'm thinking about Big Smile

     Hi Dave,

I am sitting here paper and pencil in hand plotting and planning where the heck I am going to put all my plants this year.  My seeds have arrived and by the looks of it, when I ordered them, I must've been at the cooking sherry again.Confused

It's -15C with a windchill of -27C here this morning. Tomorrow is supposed to be colder.  I read on this and other forums from warmer places in the winter to remind myself that spring will come eventually :-) To help fend of winter boredom I'm also taking a distance education on-line CAD course that uses a professional landscape design software program.  The course is offered by a local university. All the 'lectures' are on-line and there's a forum for clasroom discussion.  The format works very well - I took another course through them in 2009 and it was fun.  But I'd rather be outside in the garden - that's not going to happen again here though until late March at the earliest.

oh my, Fin, you have my sympathy...had clay soil at the place I lived in a few years ago and had to dig a massive pond out of it....ouchy!

-15??? Brrrrrrrrr!!! I can barely deal with -1!!

I'm doing nothing but planning...and buying up things in the plant sale and then wondering where to put them!
