Glad you could get in the garden and get a few things done Sue. I have some runner beans coming in the hanging basket now, they are called Hestia, the flowers are very colourful, red and white so the beans may be ready by next weekend with a bit of luck. :-)

I'd love to see a pic of your Hestia beans in the hanging basket Richard, it sounds like a good idea as I know they are suitable for pots and a basket is a hanging potWink  I've picked the first of our runners today (White Lady) and we are having them for dinner today with cod mornay and the last of the spuds I dug up from the garden.

Morning all, it's cooled down lovely here and is much more comfortable to be outside in the breezeBig Smile  Sasha didn't enjoy the recent heatwave we had at all and had an upset stomach (although I suspect that her pinching a very unripe apple off the tree and eating it didn't help either...) but she's back to normal again nowYes

Have a good day everyone and will catch up again after work.

Cooler here as well, which is much better.

Poor Sasha, it can't be easy having that thick fur coat when it's so hot. Glad she's feeling better, Sue.

    Have a good day, all.

    Hiya everyone,

Sorry to hear about Sasha's tum Sue - Percy has been in the wars too! We've had no sleep for about 3 nights, he got an infection on the outside of his throat and just didn't know where to put himself, typical boy (sorry RichardWink) low pain threshold I think, been back and forwards to the vets like no tomorrow!

Looks like everyone else is doing well in the veggie stakes at the moment, so far all we've had is some broad beansTongue Tied

AT hope you don't get washed out at the weekend, unfortunately the forecast is looking like a normal UK bank holiday I think.

Lillyrose, you mentioned AT's wedding pics, is this me being thick again?! Can't see them.

Mixture of sunshine and showers here today, but its not cold.

Hi all, just popping in quickly in my lunch break, it's busy with the boss off on his hols!

Glad the weather has cooled down for those who want it, I bet you must be glad Miranda to be out of the heat while you're working outsideWink

Sorry to hear that Percy has been in the wars too Susiq, hope his infection clears up quickly.  Sasha goes the other way when she's not feeling well and mopes about.

I'm still waiting for my first ripe tomato this year but the courgettes are doing well - OH is getting fed up with them now and is probably wondering what I'm going to hide them in nextWink

I couldn't see any pics from AutumnTiger either...

     Hi everyone.

Sorry guys AT's pics are on FB , me getting mixed upEmbarrassed.

Sorry Percy is un well SusiqRight Hug, hope he is feeling better soon. Khan has an upset tummy at the momentIck!, I have to keep squirting medicine down his throat with a syringe, not an easy task since he knows what is coming and runs (excuse the pun).

I am so glad it has cooled down a bit now, had a really bad few days with my asthma.

My toms are coming thick and fast Sue and the tomato on the tree from you has started to turn orangeBig Smile

Hope Khan is feeling better soon too lillyrose, it seems like all our animals have been struggling in the heat.  Is the stuff Khan is having the Procalin?  when Sasha had that for her stomach a few years ago, she liked the taste of it and didn't run awayAngel  Hope you're feeling a lot better yourself tooRight Hug

It's good to hear your tomatoes are doing well, it shouldn't be too long before you get to pick that one off the treeWink

Sorry you're suffering Lillyrose - does the pollen have an adverse effect on your asthma? They say its lingering longer than normal this year, with the funny weather we've been having! Hope Khan gets better soon tooRight Hug You are obviously doing much better than Sue and I with your toms, and Sue, you are ahead of me (as per usual) I've only got flowers on your tom tree so far!

Have you tried courgette chips Sue? They are to die for, I bet even your OH would enjoy them! You cut them just like chips, soak them in milk for an hour or so, then roll them in flour, you can add paprika and/or finely grated parmesan cheese first to the flour, then just deep fry them. All my courgettes so far, have suffered with blossom end rotTongue Tied

Percy had a check up this morning and the vet said its healing well (thank god!), so I've just got to keep up rubbing the cream on it twice a day for another week or so. I'm doing stuffed marrow tonight - er not one of mine, a friend gave it to me, as I'm watering his tomatoes for him for a few days while they are away!

Hi all, that's me finished at work for this week and a few busy days I had tooSmile

It's good to hear Percy is on the mend SusiqYes   I haven't tried courgette chips so I'll give those a try.  My first few courgettes went mouldy on the ends but I think that had something to do with all the wet weather we had a few weeks back as since the deluge stopped, they've been forming perfectly.

Glad Percy is getting better Susiq. It is more the heat that affects my asthma, I do have to take allergy tablets though, the same as Sue's son if I remember rightly.

Yes Sue, that is the medicine Khan has got, and he HATES it. Should see the fun and games trying to get him to take it. You should have seen me earlier, I managed to open his mouth enough to get the syringe in and just as I squirted he moved his head and it went all over meTongue Tied

Not tried courgette chips either, mind you, the lack of fruits on my plants this year don't think I will get to try themWink

My son takes the odd hayfever tablet lillyrose but it's me who has to take them every dayWink

It sounds like you had fun giving Khan his medicine todaySurprise it sounds just like the pups used to do when I gave them a dose of the worming syrup, I think I ended up wearing more of it than they actually took down.  Have you tried sliding the syringe down the side of his mouth, Sasha has a little gap at the back of her teeth that's just about big enough to slide your finger in to push a tablet down her throat and we don't always have to actually open her mouth to do it.
