We've missed out on the worst of the rain thanks Richard, it was wet here this morning but it soon dried up when the sun came out this afternoon.  Yes, those pea flowers are a lovely colour, We've got two different colours on them - there's dark blue and pale blue, and purple and light pink on the others and both those are on the same plant, perhaps the colours change as the flowers get older?

I couldn't quite remember the colours of the flowers on the blue pea plants Sue but I remember them being unusual.

Hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell over lillyrose. There will be plenty of slugs and snails around in this damp weather for sure..

nite nite lillyrose and Sue and  anyone else who is still around WinkSleep

Morning all, very cloudy here and it has just started spitting with rain.

Think it is a day indoors today.

I noticed first thing that my white lily on the patio is almost ready to open and the black lily that I bought begining of the year is very close behindSmile.

No I didn't hurt myself Richard, only my pride Wink

Hope you have a good shop Sue

Glad you got back from Wales okay, Richard. There's been a lot of flooding about. After a lovely sunny Thursday afternoon, it's barely stopped raining since - yesterday afternoon was torrential and now it's just started again. The roses don't like it, but the cabbages are certainly appreciative.

Morning all, it's nice and sunny here with the rain supposed to hit us later on this afternoon.  It would be lovely if the grass could dry out properly so I can cut it before we do get another deluge.

I did have a good shop thanks lillyrose, I got some more of the Dove while it's still on offer, and they had the one that my son is using still on offer too.  I also saw the Tresemme range of styling products 3 for £10 so I got some of those too.  When I'd paid for my shopping and looked at the vouchers I was given, one of them was "Save 5p a litre on fuel when you spend £15 or more on toiletries" now why couldn't they have given me that one last week so I could have used it today...

Hope your rain clears up for you soon Miranda, I think your waterproofs will be getting quite a bit of use over the next few daysWink

Well our rain didn't come to anything and now the sun is out so looks like I will be out in the garden after allSmile.

Snap Sue, I bought the Tresemme thermal protection yesterday and I got a voucher for petrol too. There was too many cars queueing at the petrol station so I didn't bother filling up so can use my voucher tomorrow as I need to pop to B&Q and Sainsburys is next doorBig Smile. Hope you manage to get your grass cut.

Sounds like you have got another grotty weekend on the cards Miranda, I read in the paper this morning that we have got another month of this rainSurprise, really hope they have got that wrong.

Oh well, cuppa is drunk so had better get up and do something. Think I might do some baking later

Hope you manage to get done what you want to in the garden today lillyrose.  I cut the grass after I got OH to change the blade on the mower and got a much neater cut todaySmile  I've also done a bit of deadheading and some weeding and now come indoors for a cuppa.

The month of rain sounds about right, I heard on the tv news last night that they said it would be about another month before we see any 'proper dry and warm weather'.

Hi all well the sun has actually come out Winkhere now Miranda but I think it has only found a small gap in the clouds. It has been raining most of the morning, though I did do some dead heading of some roses and brought some sweet peas indoors to put in a little vase.Angel

Glad you got your shopping done Sue and managed to get your grass cut too. That cuppa must have hit the right spot.CoffeeWink

So pleased you didn't hurt yourself when you fell over lillyrose  -  it is slippery outside here today too. Not looking forward to more rain. The brook in the middle of the village spilled over the other day.  I will take a pic on my way out to evensong later to see if the water level is still the same.Surprise

Did someone mention sun? What the hell is that? - its been that long since we've seen any up hereTongue Tied!

Glad you enjoyed your few days away Richard. Yes my leeks are for a competition at the leek club I joined, I posted some pics a few pages back, but I think you missed them. You should be the leek expert with your heritageWink

Glad most of you seem to have escaped the worst of the rains, its been horrid up here.

Yukks Lillyrose, slugs are bad enough, but that adds insult to injury slipping over on one!

You did really well Sue, in managing to get your grass cut - we've got a new pond here - its the middle of the lawnAngry As you can imagine, the hall carpet is yet again covered in muddy paw prints - Percy is SO sneaky at opening doors and getting to where he shouldn't be!

Our new guests should arrive soon, I just hope the weather will cheer up a bit for them, for us too for that matter!

I'm doing a chinese stir fry tonight.

It's nice to hear you got some sun in the end today Richard, hope it doesn't get too wet for you when you go out for a couple of jars.

Oh dear Susiq, it does sound like you've had rather a lot of the wet stuff up your way, we've been very lucky over this side of the country compared to what everyone else has been receiving.  It's still dry here but it is now beginning to cloud over and has gone very cool so our turn is coming methinks.  Hope it doesn't take too long for your new pond to disappearSurprise

Morning all, we had loads of rain overnight and both the water butts are now full again.  It was actually quite bright when I went out with Sasha this morning but that soon changed half way round the park and we both came back drowned...

Those cakes look good lillyrose, I think I'll be doing some of that today as I won't be able to get into the garden to do anything.

Glad you didn't get wet on the way to "church" and back Richard, I bet that will change today thoughWink
