There's a weather warning for heavy rain/thunderstorms for your area today, Sue. Hope it doesn't do anything horrible! We're having the first dry day for what seems like ages and it's such a relief. Actually had a bit of blue sky earlier! Yes, lillyrose - weeds! They're doing well this year, aren't they...

Hi all,
Yep looks like its the same for most of us - too damn muggy by half! Enjoy your spot of sunshine while you can Miranda.
Did you get anything in town Lillyrose, or did you just give up? Must admit, I wouldn't have ventured out shopping today.
Do any of you watch the Great British Bake Off? The new series starts next month and that guy (think its Paul Hollywood) has got a new baking book out today, (not that Sue needs any help on that front) think I might just have to treat myself
Off to do yet MORE weeding in the poly, bet I won't last long in there in this heat

Hi all, that's me finished at work for this week. Glad you've had some lovely dry weather at last Miranda. It's still hot here (29°C outside on the way home from work) but it's not as muggy now as it was earlier on. I think we might miss out on the worst of the rain and storms that have been forecasted for just outside this area with the worst of it supposed to hit from around 4 to 5am tomorrow. I get grumpy too lillyrose when it gets too hot, it was nice at work with the office in the shade and the door wide open I think I've seen a couple of the British Bake Off programmes in the past Susiq if there hasn't been anything else on that I watch. You'll have to let us know what the book is like

Hi everyone
Hope its not because of bad weather that you haven't managed to get on here today Sue, the forecast for your area looks horrendous today! Think we are due to cop it again tomorrow. Ha ha, yes I did order the book
Done my work up the road for today, so am now going to check out the poly and see how my leeks are doing! Its not very warm here, sadly no sunshine at all. My mam is clued to the box for the tennis!
Hope everyone else is alright, its very quiet on here????

Hi all. Glad you got up the road ok to do the changeover there Susiq. You'll have to let us know what you think of the book when you get it through We had plenty of rain this morning (got quite wet in town this morning) but the sun is out now and drying things up quite nicely. I picked the first of the mangetout peas this afternoon and had those with my dinner, they were gorgeous

Has your rain stopped Susiq, hope you dont get it too bad over night. No bargains I wanted in Sainsburys today Sue, mind you I skipped the frozens as my freezer is stuffed full. Bet thoes mangetout tasted nice , every time I go down the garden I pick a pea pod and eat the peas

It was great to get away for a little while with Cheryl and spend some time seeing the family and friends from down there. I had some rhubarb from a friend who has just got an allotment there and he gave me seven large growing bags that I can use in the garden for growing beans peas, other veg, flowers etc...so I was well pleased with those

My freezer is still pretty much full too lillyrose and the only frozen thing I'm planning on buying tomorrow is some of the lean mince. I'm going to have a look and see if they still have the Dove shower gel on offer (BOGOF) as I like the unfragranced one and my son likes an Addidas one that I picked up for him that was half price. Glad you had a good time away Richard. I've got some pods on the blue peas that you sent me, I've just got to wait for those to fill out before I pick some of those

Hope you have not had too much rain there with you Sue...Glad that your blue peas are doing OK. The pods are dark blue and the peas inside are green as normal. There are nice coloured flowers on them aren't there if I remember correctly were they two tone white and blue?
