Well done on reaching past a year without the ciggies Eva I had been wondering how you were getting on with that, have you bought yourself anything nice with all that money you've saved? I'm still saving what I used to spend and haven't a clue on what to go for next. Last year I got those two nice diamond rings and this year I changed my car and got a newer one than I would have originally been able to get. You certainly did do well today Richard Have fun out with your pals later

Hiya all,
Really muggy here too Sue, I spent half hour in the gh earlier and it was just too warm to keep on working! Will go back again later to try and get somemore done. My chillies are screaming at me for bigger pots!
Well done Eva (and you too Sue) you both put me to shame on the ciggie front Ha ha ha, I'm with you on that one re the ironing Eva, but I don't think I could do crotcheting either! My mam used to make some fantastic things.
Glad you managed to get the rest of the strawberries to fill up the tower Richard
Well Portia has only been back on the steroids one day (plus some antibiotics) and she seems much more comfortable today, she hasn't even noticed the two places where she's got the stitches in from the skin biopsy!
Gammon and pineapple tonight, with some new potatoes (unfortunately not homegrown ones!)

Hope the mugginess has lifted up your way Susiq like it has here now I did a bit of weeding earlier on, all the rain makes the weeds really shoot up! I've also sowed a few more lettuce seeds in pots in the greenhouse, I might keep those in there as things in there seem to be safer from the slimy gits. Glad Portia is a lot more comfortable today and that's good that she hasn't noticed where she's got stitches or she would be having a go at them. Sasha was lucky this morning not to end up with a bald spot - I'd put some hair removal cream on my legs while I was drinking my first of the morning cuppa and then on my way to the bathroom, I went to step over Sasha (laying right in the doorway and would not move) she lifted her head and I felt her ear on my leg so I had to quickly grab a couple of tissues and wipe the cream off the back of her ear! I did check her after I'd had my shower and gave her ear a good wash with a wet cloth and luckily, I'd already got the cream off so none of her hair came away

Hee hee, thankfully Sasha hasn't got a 'baldy ear' then Sue! I sowed more lettuce today too.I'm not happy about the slimy gits either, they have attacked some of my cucumber plants in the GH. My main concern is that I found a really pretty mouse in the poly yesterday and thought - awwwhh how cute - not so today, one of my giant 'show cabbages' has been well and truly nibbled I also FINALLY got the long (Pendle) leeks planted on, it took bloody ages, and I'm probably far too late in the season for them to be any good for showing, but my main focus has been on the pot leeks. OH has kindly rigged up a tank full of the sheep 'dottles' I collected ages ago, and filled it with water, so I can have that 'on tap' for feeding the pot leeks!
It's gone very overcast now, but still muggy. Have a good evening

I take it the pretty mouse will soon end up in a trap Susiq Well done getting all your leeks potted on, does the tank full of sheep 'dottles' reek a bit or is it too early as yet to tell? It could also come in handy for using on other veg if you have some of the brew to spare.

Morning all, it's another muggy one here and, according to the forecast, we could be in for a storm later. Glad your computer is working properly again now lillyrose
Have a good day everyone and will catch up again after work.

Hiya all, muggy again here too Sue - but its definately looking like we could be in for a storm!
Ha ha, yes you are right about the mouse! (I always send OH up first when traps have been set) The tank that OH rigged up for the sheep poo has got a lid on it - I just have to turn a tap on from the outside, to add to the watering can and yes apparently the stench is non too friendly
You've been missed Lillyrose, look forward to hearing what you've been up too lately.
Been to collect my mam's spectathons, and took Portia for her post-op check, the stitches and scars are doing fine

Hello all, had the same as Lillyrose as our internet connection went wibbly for several days, but is now okay again. No idea what happened, though. You'll have a rich dark smell there, Susiq! Should be good for the veg, though. Good to hear that Portia is more comfortable now. Glad that Sasha's still got ear hair, Sue :-) Watch the blackbirds around those strawbs, Richard - we were about to pick ours but the blackbirds got there first. Have a good afternoon, everyone!

Hi all, it was a very busy day at work as I was on my own today.
Glad Portia's vets visit went ok Susiq. Heehee, it sounds like you're going to need a peg on your nose when you turn the tap on the tank It's good to hear your computer problems are sorted too Miranda George is a lovely colour lillyrose. Er when you say we will never guess what you've done, my first thought was that you might have broken his bowl but I'm now thinking you've got him a mate?

Good luck telling your OH lillyrose, would I be right in thinking that you know someone who is planning on breeding their GSD? Mind you, we had several people say they would be interested in Sasha's pups both before, and when she was pregnant but by the time the pups were ready to go, none of the ones who said they were interested actually had one of the pups.
