  Reply | Contact Good day all. The tuna lasagne was a home made one Sue, lillyrose and tasty too. Cheryl made it the day before, Saturday for the evening meal and saved me some to have on Sunday. Lovely day here and I have been up the tip with Dave with a car full of tat from the garden and shed. I still have another load to sort out and that will be taken up the tip later. I will have to try and keep it clutter free now lillyrose. Sounds as though you had a nice lot of beef there for your dinner yesterday. It seems very wet there Eva. We didn't have any fish going by but we did have a hot-air balloon pass our window yesterday afternoon I took a pic and will upload it later. Hope the day stays fine up there with you Susiq so that you can get on with the weeding and planting out the marigolds. Hope your OH manages to track down the missing ring too. You were just in time with the lawn mower Phot's that's one job I haven't got to do anymore as we don't have any lawns now. Oh, so sorry to hear that you have got bitten again Miranda, I hope that you are OK...that's one of the drawbacks of being a tasty woman. Needless to say I don't have that trouble myself. -Richard

  Reply | Contact  Hope your leg doesn't swell like your arm did Miranda although if it is ants that have bitten you, the itch should soon stop. Hope you managed to get done outside what you wanted to today Susiq.  It stopped drizzling here mid morning and we've had a mixture of sun, cloud and a few spits and now at the end of the day, there's plenty of blue sky and it's cooled down quite a bit. I'm definitely liking the sound of the tuna lasagne Richard, was it made the same way as a traditional one but just using tuna instead of the mince, or is the sauce different too?   sue1002

Cause a lot of pain and swelling for such little creatures, don't they - especially the red ones. Tuna lasagne? Can't say I fancy that, but that could just be because I'm not very keen on tuna. I did a veggie one once with leeks and black olives and that was good. Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

Very glad about that!  Tuna lasagne sounds good, Richard. So does roast chicken, though.  Lovely day coming up, by the looks of it. Hope everyone has a sunny day!

  Reply | Contact  Good Morning all. A sunny day here and we are going shopping when Cheryl gets back from the hairdressers. The tuna lasagne recipe was off the net Sue I will ask C which one it was and put up a link to it - we all loved it here. There were plenty of vegetables in it too and a plain white sauce. It had a topping of grated cheese also. Your veggie lasagne sounded tasty too Phot's. Glad you are able to cut the grass today Sue It looks like you will get a nice day down there with you too Miranda looking at the forcast for your area. Good news about your leg. Well our Dave had a good win again in a competition. He had first prize and there was a knock on the door with 4 crates of Guinness for him. Each crate  had 24 large cans in and each crate was worth £40.. Have a good day all whatever you are doing and I will catch up later.  -Richard

Richard, MORE guiness for Dave, well done again to him I think his dad might just be able to help him out with his latest winnings OH has been doing a few trips too, with tat to the tip! Hope you manage to get the grass cut today Sue, we had a mega downpour earlier, but its turned into a lovely late afternoon. Great news that it was only a pesky ant Miranda. Took my mam to the opticians today for her eye test - 210squid later Well apparently she was never happy with her last lot of spectathons, but I'm really cross that she hadn't told me sooner, maybe's we could have done something about it! Haven't got much done today, apart from the trip to Alnwick with my mam, and have showered Portia with her special shampoo, am just off to check out the GH and Poly.

  Reply | Contact I hope your actually likes Guiness, Richard! Nice added beef stew, if he doesn't.Good haul, though! LOL at spectathons, Susiq. I call them spectaculars.  Hot this afternoon - good that the ground is still nice and soft as I've been pulling up lots of thistles and they came out really easily. Also been pulling out lots of flower stems of blue bells that have gone over and they come away from the bulb with a satisfying little 'pop'. Try it, it's kind of addictive.

  Reply | Contact  I did get the grass cut this afternoon thanks and that's about all I've done today apart from checking over the lilies for lily beetles (didn't find any but found quite a few of their larvae) and I've sat outside on the bench watching and listening to the birds. Thanks for the link to the tuna lasagne recipe Richard, I've bookmarked that for use very soon  I bet you will kindly help your son drink his winnings It sounds like you've had it hotter than us today Miranda, it's been lovely here with the breeze.   Reply | Contact  Plenty of Guinness there for watching the footie, Richard! Sunny here and I did get out into the allotment for an hour. I spent most of the day trying to persude local shops to put up posters but did buy something in one. A tomato plant had snapped off in the wind so when I saw large tomato plants for £1.25 I bought one ... and got given two free! Got them all planted, then picked strawberries, the first of my raspberries and dug a root of new potatoes. Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

That was a good bargain with the tomato plants Phot's  If you were able to pick strawberries yesterday then the rest of us should be able to follow suit in a couple of weeks as you are often able to start harvesting yours before we can. Snap Susiq, I am taking my Mum for an eye test tomorrow. She told me the other day that she can't see properly with the glasses she has got and hasn't been able to for months, Mum's eh. Better not tell her what your Mum paid. That was a bargain with your tom plants phot's, I noticed this morning that there is one lonely little strawberry ready to pick, all the others are still a long way off. I really must look into planting some raspberry canes, I love the taste. Sounds like you had a perfect day yesterday Sue, I just love sitting on our garden bench watching the birds. The perfect de- stresser lol. I found my first lily beetle the other day, was annoyed as it was on my new black lilies and the leaves are all full of holes now Oh well, suppose I had better get on, spending the rest of the day in the garden as we are forecast heavy rain as from tomorrow.   Reply | Contact Hiya all, lovely here too, but also forecast rain for tomorrow! Ha ha ha I wonder how long Dave's haul will last Richard?!?!?! Yes Lillyrose, typical of mum's hey! I think my mam's were extra expensive as she had to have bi-focals, mind you the frame was expensive too! I've only got one ripe strawberry too, its a big un' so me and my mam will have half each! There's loads of gooseberries down the lane, so will have a pick of those later. Hope you manage to keep the nasties off your lovely lillies Sue. I bought some gorgeous begonias this morning for the cow trough by our front door. There's a couple with polytunnels just outside Alnwick, the plants are amazing, and much cheaper than the garden centres Right - gardening calls!

  Reply | Contact  I am SUCH a nightmare, just moved the fridge freezer out from the wall by a couple of inches and instead of taking the rather heavy chrome fan down from the top first I just moved it and yes, the b****y thing fell on me. It hit the kettle on the work top first putting a huge dent in it then hit my hand. I thought at first I had broken a couple of fingers, but luckily?????, I have got away with a very swollen hand and two rapidly turning blue fingers. Still that will teach me eh
