Hope all is well with you Phot's down there in the sunny southSmile

Hi all, it's another windy one here today but at least it's dry.

Yes thanks Richard, it is lovely to have the house back to ourselves againBig Smile  Did you manage to find anything to do in the garden today?

I've planted out the sprout plants and started to do some weeding but the weeds were blowing out of my bucket so I think I'll leave that until tomorrow.

     Hi everyone, I'm backBig Smile

Yes Richard I was totaly lost without my internet, I re placed my dongle as I kept having problems and now everything seems to be ok. Don't think the old one was ever the same after GS 'fed' it to Moo.

I have only had a quick look through the posts, will have a proper read later.

I am so glad it went ok at the vets with Portia Susiq, I was dreading reading that she needed an op, big hugs from meRight Hug.

I had to take my Mum to the vets this morning, well her and her dog lol. He kept shaking his head yesterday and putting his head in Mum's lap so we took him down first thing and he has got an ear infection. Five mins in with the vet and a bottle of drops = £45 bill Surprise.

While we were in the town we had a quick look in the farmers market and I bought a yellow courgette plant and a winter spaghetti squash plant and a rose scented geranium plant.

Glad you have got your house back SueBig Smile.

Hi Sis, nice to see you posting again

Hello wonder if I could join in your posting?  Not sure how this site works, if you have any helpful hints I would be very grateful.  Sitting here with football in one ear (in our lounge) and lookingout at a damp/windy garden.  Basket fell off the wall with the wind, and the lettuces have gone beserk with the extra rain!  Have a fairly small garden with a bit of everything, pond, greenhouse, herb patch, borders, and our wooden patio with a hopefully sunny terrace - am training three clematis to cover the trellis, and they are ready to sprout.  Although here in Cheshire everything seems a bit behind the seasons, as I am sure everyone else is finding.  Am growing some plug plants received in the greenhouse, quite like the cottage garden look, and am growing strawberries, and tomatoes, although not very well at the moment!

Anyway, enough of me.  Just wondered if you had any helpful hints on navigating round the site, and also how do you add a photo to your profile?

    Kath

Hi there, sorry to have intruded on your postings,on reading your posts I now realise you have all been posting for years.  All the best

Nice to see you back Lillyrose - how frustrating is it when we haven't got connectivityAngry hard to remember what life was like pre-t'internet!

Awhh, glad your mum got her pooch sorted, yes we weren't in the vets long either, and only got a bottle of shampoo - £41 bill! That rose scented geranium sounds nice.

Well its turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon, so best make the most of this sunshine, as we might not see it for a while! OH has lost his wedding ring today, while we were doing the cleaning, he'd put it in his pocket, but now that I've checked the pockets, there's a hole in itSuper Angry He'd been into the village mid-clean, so it could be anywhere...............................

Morning all and what a lovely day it is, the wind has dropped completely, the sun is out and it's quite warm outside already, I'm definitely going to be getting outside today.

Nice to see you back again lillyrose, let's hope GS doesn't feed Moo with the new dongleWink  Your mum's dog should soon get over the ear infection with the use of the drops.  Sam used to get the odd ear infection and didn't like the stuff going in his ears.

We're behind the seasons too Kath with the veggie growing this year, I've never known a year being so slow for things getting going.  I think it's the lack of heat we had when we had all the rain in April/early May that has done it.  By now, my tomatoes (grown from seed) are usually about three foot high in the greenhouse and all bar one are less than a foot high.

Oh dear Susiq, unless your OH has lost his ring in the house or lodge, it doesn't sound like there's much hope of finding it again.

Morning all. To echo Sue, what a lovely daySmile. No wind here either and the sun is out and already it is lovely and warm.

I will be doing loads in the garden today too Sue, the weeds have gone mad in the veggie garden plus there is lots of bits and bobs to be done.

Hello from me Kath and welcome, we use 'Idle chat' to do just that, we talk about anything from our gardens to what we are doing for dinner. If there is a particular gardening question you would like answering then you will find the main forum is better for that.

Oh dear Susiq, I do hope OH finds his ring somewhere in the house.

Thanks for the heads up on that offer, Richard, but I was too late for it. Never mind, I've probably got enough plants to be going on with as most of my cuttings from last year are looking nice and fat. People keep saying 'Do take some cuttings if you'd like to' and I can't resist.

Susiq, fingers crossed that your husband finds his wedding ring!

Kath, our veg is also behind. Lots of strawberries, but they're all green and the tomatoes are only just thinking about flowering. Don't be shy about joining in here, everyone is welcome!

We are off out on a compost buying mission now. Lots more potting on to be done.

Thanks Miranda, have just been out to salvage any wreckage from the wet few days we have had - sun shining herein sunny Cheshire!  There are usually some good offers in Gardeners World (subscription gift from hubby, which has been much appreciated) -am growing plug plants to fill in gaps in our rather urban front garden - mainly parking space (on small cul de sac so definitely needed) but have a triangular plot at one corner which is shaping up nicely (only planted a couple of years ago).  Have a photinia robinia (sp) miniature, which takes centre stage.  Have also introduced grasses and box plants in containers for  more of an urban feel, just love the effect of different shapes/style of grasses near our window.

Also visited our local garden centre for some ready-made herbs (lost most of mine in the hot spell we had) so No.1 son can have them ready to pick on his balcony overlooking Salford Quays, where he is now living!

Sun just out here and the sound of lawnmowers in the background, may even get a chance to sit out once our visitors have gone! :)

    Hiya all

Hello Kath - don't be shy, you are more than welcomeBig Smile Your garden sounds really enjoyed and well looked after.

Well, yet another miserable day, weather wise here - so won't bang on about it too much, as some parts of the country are much worse off than us!

OH's ring is still on the 'missing list' - but I've just got 'a feeling' that we will spot it here 'somewhere' at some point - fingers crossed! Our new guests have promised they will let us know if they see it somewhere in the lodge, and I'm sure they will.

Saddle of lamb tonight - am just gonna google what sort of sauce to serve with it?!?!?

Well I have managed to get out in the garden today and do some tidying up. I hope you managed to get out in the garden today too lillyrose.Big Smile

Your dinner sounds so tasty Susiq ....hope your OH finds his wedding ring soonSurprise

I just put this idea on thriftyfunWink,...I use this large jug (below) for collecting the water from the hot tap while I am waiting for it to get hot, instead of letting it go down the drain. I use it for watering the windowboxes and tubs then..
