Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

Hi everyone,
Thanks Sue and Richard, thankfully Portia isn't limping so far However, I'm still taking her to the vets this aft' as she is losing even more fur off her coat
Looks like you've been burning the candle at both ends Phot's!
Hope you had a good night last night with your pals Richard.
That rain sounded horrendous on your drive Sue, its sunny here at the moment, but forecast heavy showers for later. I've got tons to do in the garden, so will work outside first before the rain!

Yes where are you Lillyrose? We know Miranda only 'pops in' - work permitting.
Ooh set me a place Richard, coq-au-vin sounds right up my street! Well, a friend of mine called to tell me about the weather forecast - have just literally ran out to tie up all my lovely delphiniums - apparently we are all in for one hell of a storm - the country is on an 'amber' alert I really will cry if my delphs get destroyed[:'(] So its batten down the hatches I guess - but hey, it is British summertime afterall
Have done loads up in the poly today, but not nearly as much as I wanted to achieve - off to the vets in a mo with poor Portia! Catch you all laters.

Well done getting lots done in the poly Susiq and good luck with Portia at the vets. Hope your Delphs survive ok, it's persisting down here and has been from around 2pm, there were quite a few puddles on the roads with the run-off from the fields on the way home. Good luck with those apple pips Richard, it would be nice if you can get it to fruiting size although with that variety, those ones ripen up right at the end of the season.

Hello all, well I'm here today! It's horrible out - really wet and windy - and I have plenty to do indoors, so am doing that. Ooh, that sounds exciting with the apple pips, Richard! I wonder what you'll get? I do like growing things from seed. How is Portia today, Susiq? Did the vet know why she's losing fur?

Hi all,
Yes another grey damp day, but I don't think we've got it as bad as further south, its meant to be working its way up the country tonight! Still I've got plenty I can do in the poly without getting wet! More nemaslugs arrived this morning, as the beasties have been at my giant cabbages
Hope you get a good result with your apple pips Richard.
Portia is ok thanks everyone, the vet wants her to finish this current season (her first for 18 months) to see if her hormones change and prompt some hair growth. If not, she'll have more blood tests for underactive thyroid. He gave me a special shampoo to try, but its too cold to shower her today!
I determined to finish off the replanting of my leeks today - will take some pics when I'm done!

Morning all. I don't blame you for staying in today Miranda, it's the same here. That wind is quite fierce and when I parked in town and started to open the door, the wind blew the door wide open! Glad Portia is ok Susiq and hope the new shampoo works

Afternoon all, it's blowing a right gale here too I'm afraid, but at least it's dry hey! It's nice to see everyone is still busy gardening and cooking and stuff. I'm afraid I haven't yet caught up with all your news but judging by the forecast I will have loads of time on Sunday! Oh dear, I should've kept my mouth shut, it's just started to pelt down... I'm glad to hear Portia is doing a bit better Susiq, you must have been so worried! Enjoy your weekend, see you Sunday!

Weather has been grim, hasn't it? Richard is right that it doesn't really seem like June.

Hope you didn't get any damage in the winds Eva, you're lucky you've got it dry, it's been pelting down for most of the day here. Hope you didn't get blown away on your way to the farm shop Richard. I didn't buy anything for myself in town today but I did get my son some new trousers (trackie bottoms and some jeans) as his old ones were wearing a bit thin and getting short in the leg, and as he is on half term week, he was able to come with me to try them on to make sure they fit. We're back to normal here, OH's son moved out this morning and it's lovely having the place back to ourselves again
