Great shot LillyroseYes Moo reminds me very much of Percy in the 'noseyness' stakes! However, if anything jumped out, Percy the woose would run a mile - whereas I'm sure Moo wouldn't be taken aback at all - Portia would sadly go in for the kill! Not with toads though, as she's clever enough to know they are poisonous.

Glad you've still got the sunshine, its truly miserable up here, but I have managed to get tons of weeding done at last! The porous tubing has just arrived, so I need to get OH on the case of getting it all laid, so that finally, I can get my leeks and onions in situBig Smile

It is still sunny and very warm here SusiqSmile.

I had to smile at poor Percy the woose, bless, unfortunately Moo often catches the frogs and brings them indoors for meTongue Tied. So far she has never hurt one, just hope it stays that way. Trouble is she seems to know where they hide and often roots around in the plants till one jumps out.

Glad your tubing has arrived, at least your weather has cooled down so it won't be so uncomfortable getting it laid.

Couple of questions, has anyone grown cucumbers outdoors, I usually grow them in the GH but the ones I have grown this year are suitable for outside too and I am wondering whether to give that a goConfused. Also, do you think my leeks will grow ok if I plant them in the raised bed that I have just planted the runner beans in.......

I personally would never grow cu's outdoors Lillyrose, but that is ONLY because we are heaps much colder than you up here, so they probably wouldn't survive, but where you live, I'm sure they'll be fine - as long as there's no snow in JulyWink! Re the leeks, I'm sure they will be fantastic in your raised bed, as long as you give 'em enough space between your runners.

Well my fish is shouting at mefrom the oven, catch you all laters...........................

Hi all, that's my working week half over, it was lovely driving home in the sunshine.

Sorry lillyrose, didn't mean to make you salivate with the ice cream recipes, methinks you might be soon joining us in getting an ice cream makerWink  With my one that I got from Lidls (I don't know about the other makes), the bowl has to be frozen for 24 hours, and once the mixture has been in the fridge for 4 hours, it only takes about half an hour in the machine itself for a nice cold treatBig SmileDevil

Lovely pic of Maisie looking for those frogs.

I've never grown outdoor cucumbers before but I have tried with greenhouse ones and they didn't do very well.  I read that cucumbers like a moist atmosphere where tomatoes like it dry which is probably why mine didn't do any good.  Whether the outdoor ones like the moist air or not I don't know.

Hope your OH can get on ok laying that tubing Susiq so you can get on with your plantingSmile

I think the wardrobe thing must be common the whole country overWink  My wardrobe is one of those units with two double wardrobes with small drawers and an upper cupboard in the middle, and OH has a single wardrobe with a couple of drawers at the bottom and a chest of drawers.

Right, better go and water the pots and baskets and build up my muscles carrying those cansWink

Yay, I've been saved - I got half way through the watering before it came over all black with rumbles in the distance.  I decided to stop the watering and got indoors just in time for the heavens to open and now the whole back garden is getting a good watering as the storm is passing overSmile

Wish it would rain here lol. I have just finished the last of the watering and I'm flippin knackeredTongue Tied

Thanx girls re my questions, think I will chance it and grow the cues outside this year and I will plant half the leeks in with the beans and the other half in other beds, that way if they don't like being with the beans I will have a back upBig Smile.

While I was watering the veggie garden I noticed a couple of teeny toms on one of my plants in the ground and half a dozen or so flowers on the pea plants.

Right, time for a cuppa I think, might sit outside and drink it tooSmile.  Come to think of it Sue, it feels very muggy here so maybe we will get a storm too

I've told the rain to come down your way lillyroseSmile  The storm only amounted to a few loud rumbles and it completely chucked it down for around 20 minutes.  The water butt went from being almost empty to two-thirds full in that time so that will give me something to water the blueberries withBig Smile

Morning all, it's nice and sunny and very fresh feeling out there today, the rain last night has perked the lawn up as it had started to look a bit dried out.

Have a good day everyone and will catch up again after work.

Lovely pic of MooDog lillyrose she is into everything isn't she.. You would be proud of Nicola getting these bargains from Sainsbury's lillyrose .... she bought four packets of 6 crumpets for 9p a packet, three of them are in the freezer now.We had some for breakfast. I love a bit of crumpetWink

We had  some rain last night too Susiq mixed in with some thunder. It didn't last long though so I didn't get wet when I went  down the localBig Smile. We are all going out tonight for a meal at the local college where the catering students wait on you hand and foot. We have been there a few times before  and you get a lovely meal for a reasonable price.

Glad your water butt is filling up Sue so you can water your blueberries. I am making some chicken and vegetable soup  for lunch Sue  so at the moment I am making the chicken stock. I have already diced the vegetables. Hope you have a good day in work. Slacking on the sarnie report again I see ha ha ...tut tut Wink
