The sun is out here too Sue and Scott, has been for about an hour. LOL, when my son used to say he was bored I used to suggest he could tidy his room or do some jobs for me and it was surprising how quickly he wasn't bored any more . Only bargains in the market today was on fruit and veg and a couple of bits on the stall that sells all sorts of grocery items. I agree with what Richard was saying last week about his market, the fruit and veg is so cheap it is hardly worth growing your own (wont stop me though ). I bought 24 bananas for £1, a doz lemons for £1 (great for homemade lemonade), three pineapples for £1, a melon for 50p and 16 assorted peaches and nectarines for £2 plus four huge baking potatoes for £1. The grocery stall sells alot of stuff with only a few weeks date code left on them plus discontinued lines from supermarkets and alot of french tins and packets. It saves a fortune if you don't mind stuff like that. The other week I bought four jars of M&S caramalised spicy red onion pickle for 30p a jar and it is one of the nicest shop bought pickles I have tried. Yes Scott, hope you took a pic of your Gazanias. Sounds like you will be having a nice week off Sue, I hope the weather is nice for you

Hi lillyrose. Well done with your fruit and potato bargains. I am always amazed how the markets can sell them at these prices and still make a profit. It just goes to show the markup that there is in the shops.

Wow lillyrose, you certainly got some bargains on the fruit and veg stall, especially those three pineapples for a quid. Haha Richard, you were right, the suggestion to my son to clear up his room went in one ear and out the other although he did say that he took Sasha out for a walk mid morning so they both got a bit of extra exercise. Well that's me finished at work now, and with me being a 'proper part timer' my week off actually turns out to be nearly two weeks

Oooh, home madelemonade - haven't had that in a while. Just might have to make some. Where are the pictures, Scott? (not that I'm demanding or anything)

Good morning everyone! So sorry to have been away so long, hope you are well, I've really missed you all! I'm trying ot get back on top of things: I'm almost done at home and this afternoon I'm out to the allotment for the first time in a couple of weeks. I have no idea how bad things have gotten over there but I haven't had any menacing calls from the neighbours so I'm guessing it won't be too bad. Tonight I will also catch up with your posts, in the meantime, big hug from me!

Good morning all. We had a thunder storm last night, the rain came down really heavy which the garden really needed. It has made a bit of a mess to the flowers of my two climbing David Austin roses though. Never been a big fan of roses, but wanted to cover a bare patch of fencing. I had a trip down to David Austin's place, near Wolverhampton a couple of years ago and saw two climbers named Falstaff and Constance Spry growing on a wall there. Constance Spry is white double and Falstaff is a dark red double. The fragrance from these is out of this world. I would highly recommend them. As we sell David Austin roses at work, i got quite a bargain too. I did try uploading my pics of my Gazanias but could not figure out how to get then on here. I uploaded them to Flickr account, but could not paste them on to here. Any advice would be welcome... I initially planted my Gazanias in a couple of containers to replace the impatients that completely failed this year.. But to be honest i'm really impressed with them and will be seeding next year for other parts of my garden. They are good to grow in dry areas of the garden where most other things would struggle. I'm glad i am not he only one who's kids have are already getting bored.. We are off to caravan in Filey next week so that should keep them entertained. Looking forward to going myself actually to see the flower beds round town. The council really make a effort and do some really good beds with a mixture of flowers and veg. Good to hear about your bargains at the market. I had day off work yesterday and decided to nip into Sheffield. Had to pick up a few bits for my brothers wedding tomorrow (I really must write a best man speech today). Anyway, browsing the market, i could not resist picking up some perennials for £1 each. Got a couple of Astilbes for the side of the shed and a lovely Dicentra. Picked up some really cheap spring bulbs too. The stall that sells the plants are from a nursery in Huddersfield which is a charity. They train people who are disabled and have learning difficulties. The plants basically are a by-product of their work. They also supply our perennials at work and the quality is great.

Morning (just!) all, it's overcast and a bit on the muggy side here. Went into town this morning as usual and spent a bit longer there as I had my son with me and we were looking for bargains in our T J Hughes store which is soon to be closing, we found a few clothes but there wasn't really that much else left. It sounds like you had a good day on the market yesterday Scott with your purchases It's good to see you again Eva , are you finished on the meds yet? and hope the lottie isn't too much overgrown when you get there. Any shopping bargains today lillyrose?

Good morning all. (well it was am when I started this)
Scott. basically on Flickr, if you click on 'actions' at the top of the pic, you can paste the code in your post. Let me know if you want more info and I will PM you more details. Here is a link to my pics on there. I used this method http://flic.kr/p/7D2X6G
Enjoy your shop today lillyrose and chat to you later.
Glad you seem better now Eva. Your pink poppies were looking good in our garden but some have finished now. I gave some to Cheryl's friend and hers are looking good too. So a little piece of the NL here in Leicestershire.
Shame all the bargains were gone in TJ Hughes Sue, never mind you will have saved some cash instead.

Hi everyone. No bargains today Sue but I didn't hang around as I wanted to do a very quick shop. You got some bargains yesterday Scott, I adore DA roses , my favorite climber, well rambler, is Paul's Himalayan Musk. I have one all across the front of my house and when it is in flower the smell is incredible.

It was a shame that most of the kitchen stuff had gone there Richard as I was going to see if there were any bargains on that score, it's just that everyone else had got there before me. Never mind though as I did pick up a skirt and a jumper for myself, a couple of t shirts and some pjs for my son and we did look for some t shirts for OH but the ones he would wear, they hadn't got in his size and the ones they did have in his size, he wouldn't wear. I don't blame you for not hanging around this morning lillyrose, I sometimes fly round and just get what's on my list, especially if I'm running late. I'm definitely going to pick up some more of the multi seed bread mix if it's still on offer tomorrow, I got one last week to try it and made it today and it's gorgeous.
