Morning allCool. Lovely and warm and not a cloud in sight. Your garden is looking good Anthony, I love the strawberry pot, mine are in a large hanging basket but the pot looks much nicer. That flower is a scabious, I have grown some from seed this year for the first time but mine don't have flowers on them yet. Ha ha Sue, I had a feeling you would go and sniff your BacopaBig Smile. Hope you have a quieter day today. I'm off down the market and harbour shortly, have a good day all x

PS. good luck with the exams Anthony

Morning all, it's sunny with clear blue skies here too but there is some rain in the forecast for this afternoon.

Have a good shop at the market and harbour today lillyrose, you'll have to let us know if you come back with any bargainsSmile

It's salami again in the sarnis today and to finish off the packet, Sasha got an extra slice.  Will see if I can pop in later, have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, sunny here too today! I had a bit of a panic this morning, thought I'd locked myself out of the house when I went grocery shopping, hen I finally managed to squeeze through a window I noticed I had my keys in my hands all the time. EmbarrassedBig Smile  I blame the meds.

Thanks for all the kind wishes for Lilian and Kyra, I've passed them on to her and she was very tocuhed! Big hug from her.. Right Hug

Your garden looks great Anthony, can't wait to see what you come back with from GW Live and Tatton! Lilyrose ios right, that is indeed a scabious, I grew some from seed last year (turned out a bit lanky) and left them in the border and they're a lot more bushy and full of flowers this year.  So you'll have better luck with them next year Lilyrose!

Ohhh I'm jealous RogerB, an hour a day at the lotty! I bet that makes a huge difference not only in the planning but also in the enjoyment of being there and not having to rush. I hope you have a nice sitting area to do your hard thinking in... Wink

That's a bit of good luck Susiq, half price for the second delivery! And good for you to be so honest and give them a call about it! Yes

Hope today is quieter for you at the office Sue, and happy bargain hunting Lilyrose!

Morning all. It started off quite bright but is clouding over quickly now. We had some very heavy rain showers yesterday lunchtime so I’m hoping it’s not going to do the same again today.

Your garden’s looking good Anthony, good luck with your GCSEs today.

Sue, it’s just a pleasure to be able to do things at the pace I want to do them at, not at breakneck speed to fit everything in to too short a time. Eva, if I had somewhere to sit down I’d probably doze off instead of getting on with things.

Catch up with you all again later, have a good day

Give it a go - it might just work!

    Hi all

Another sunny start today! Good luck with your exams Anthony (Maths - YUKKS!) You've obviously been working really hard in your garden, well done.

Eva, that was not good, had to laugh though, imagining your face when you realised you had the keys all alongBig Smile I can imagine the air was blue too!

We had some really heavy rain and thunder too RogerB, the ground couldn't take it after all that dryness.

Yes, Sue I got the beets and salsify plantedYes

Let us know what you get down the harbour today Lillyrose.

How's your arm feeling Richard? Are you on any painkillers?

Well, if it doesn't chuck it down again today, I will be back to the dreaded weedingTongue Tied

Oh Eva, I bet you swore too but at least you had the keys and no-one else didBig Smile

Well done Susiq for getting those seeds sown, I'm waiting to see what those beets turn out like.

Hope that doesn't make the day drag for you Sue! I'll let you know what the beets turn out like. It says on the packet that they are less 'earthy' tasting than normal beets. I've just been up and sown the fennel bulb seeds too, there's loads of little toads hopping around in the poly, it makes me anxious when I'm weeding, as I don't want to hurt any of them! Lots of swedes seem to have just popped up out of nowhere too. So far the rain has held offYes

It has come over very cloudy here now and I am sure the rain isn't too far away. I bought some haddock, smoked cod and king prawns in the harbour for a fish pie. Priced up the dressed crabs but they were £7 eachSurprise, no way am I paying that. I bought myself some nice leather flip flop type thingys in the market, I live in them during the summer. Moo had her first baked pigs snout todayBig Smile, Khan loves them and the pigs ears too. Sasha sounds as spoilt as Moo and Khan SueWink, every time I go in the cold meat drawer in the fridge Khan appears out of no where and sits down, bless. My swedes are through this morning Susiq, first time I am growing them. Glad you are a bit quieter today Sue, have an extra cuppa while you canSmile. Glad Lilian and Kyra are ok today Sis, I had a good chuckle at you climbing through the window then finding your keysBig Smile. My Scabious plants are very thin and weedy looking but I feel alot better now you said yours were the same last year.

    Hi all,

    Hope everyone is well.

    Still very changeable weather here.

Well, it looks like I am going to get some rest anyway - my temp job is dying off and for the next two weeks, I'll only have a week's worth of work, so get Mon, Tue and Wed off next week.  I'll be looking for something else, but they do have three weeks work out of the next four for me (due to planned sick leave - operation), so that gives me time to work out something else.  It will give me time to get to the lottie and tackle some of my to-do list :-)

Eva: sorry to hear the news about the break-in, I hope everyone's nerves are settling now.  It is upsetting, happened to me on holiday once, but at least I could come home and leave it behind!

Ooh, yes, Wimbledon, maybe I'll get to see some now ... no, must action to-do list!

Good luck with those exams Anthony.

Sorry I can't see anyone's pics at the moment, will have to try and remember to check them next week (committee tonight then away for the weekend).

Right best get back to work.

    Best wishes to all

Sounds like you got a good 'catch' at the harbour LillyroseSmile Just shows the great North/South divide again, our dressed crabs are half that price! I stopped giving P&P pigs ears, as they both get the trots (pardon the pun) after eating themIck! Yes, I've found the swedes really easy and quick to grow, and MUCH tastier than shop bought ones!

I'm doing stuffed flat mushrooms tonight with homegrown salad leaves and some of those extremely HOT HOT HOT chinese radishes!

Good Afternoon all. I have been doing a fair amount of sitting around on the computer Sue since I have retiredEmbarrassed but am now spending more time outside doing some gardening now the weather has improved. You will soon be finishing your work today. We have been making strawberry jam (9lbs) and blackcurrant jam (5lbs) this morning so the jars are now cooling down.

You are welcome to some tuna fishcakes lillyrose we had some spare yesterday..they were lovely as we added spinach to them also. Hey..I am coming around for some of your fish pie later.Yes

Haha Roger the nurses know me at the hospital and say "..and what have you done this time?" SmileGlad you are enjoying more time at the allotment.

Your garden is looking good Anthony..best of luck with your GCSE exams...I am sure you will be relieved when they are all over.Big Smile

Oh Eva what are you like my girl locking yourself out like that and had the keys in your hand all the time. I told Cheryl about it and that you blamed it on the meds, and she said what meds was that? .. a bottle of whisky?...we both then had a little chuckle..haha!!Big Smile...sorry!Embarrassed

Yes I have some painkillers for my arm Susiq thanks for asking. It is not that painful but it sometimes itches like the devilDevil..I scratch it with a knitting needle although I am not supposed toSurprise. It must be great gardening in the dry in the polytunnel when its tipping it down outside. We are going up the farm soon to get some sausages they taste great from there. We will have them with mash and swede for our tea .Stick out tongue

Hope you manage to find some more work AT but in the meantime enjoy your time in the lottie. Its great that you are posting again I have missed your chat...Smile

Your swedes are doing ok from the sound of it Susiq, I've tried twice before to grow them and haven't succeeded.  Hope the toads are doing a good job of eating your slugs too.

All round lillyrose's for fish pie tonight thenWink  Did Moo eat all her pig snout?  We gave Sasha some pig ears before and she just shredded them and left them on the floor, needless to say she hasn't been given any since!  I don't blame you either Susiq for not giving them to P&P any more if they have that effectWink

Yes, it's amazing how the dogs know exactly when to come into the kitchen, Sasha always sits and waits patiently when I make make the sarnis for my son (and me on the days I work) for a slice of cheese or ham.  She comes running down the stairs as soon as she hears me get the bread out of the bread bin yet doesn't bother at the weekends when she knows I'm just getting the bread out to do my toast.

Enjoy those three days off next week AutumnTiger, it should give you a chance to catch up on the lotty.

I love tuna fishcakes Richard and those ones sound gorgeous so save some for me too pleaseSmile  It's good to hear your arm isn't painful.
