Glad you're a bit better, Susiq.

This bit might be even more annoying than Lillyrose's post ...

I went out in the lovely sunshine and picked my strawberries. Gave a punnet away at the lottie to the chap on the next plot (saw him drooling) I had a bowlful for lunch, used 6lb for jam (some were ones I picked a few days ago) gave a punnet to OH's parents, had a BIG bowlful each after our tea and still have 3 punnets left in the fridge!

Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

A good morning to you all, was up at the crack of dawn today, knew it was going to be nice weather- for the entire holiday weeked apparently (don't hate me Digger, I don't control the weather) and I need to get some stuff done in the house, then a squash game and then off to the lotty to try and get on top of the weeds. Bought some fennel plug plants yesterday that need to go in. The parsnips, beets and carrots need to be thinned. And I've got a lot of sowing to do!

Wow Phot's that an amazing load of strawberries you have there, how many plants do you have?! Yes Hope you're still on leave today...

Sounds like you had a lovely time with your friend Sis, and how nice of her to give you those chairs. I can't believe how much Moo has grown Surprise it won't be long till she won't be able to fit on that chair!

So your Mum has finally met her match in the physio then Susiq Wink it'll do her good to get some excercise. How is she finding her weekly outing to the care center? Good to hear to hear you're feeling a lot better! Right Hug

If you're working today Sue I hope it's not as busy as yesterday.

I'm looking at the pile of seeds I still have to plant, and panicking slightly, I hope I can find some space for them all. I went a bit nuts and ordered 7 packets of different types of squashes, I still had 4 other packets, not even including the spaghetti ones that Sue sent me. Surprise And I can't not have sweetcorn, although I think I might just buy plug plants again this year. And then there's all the other flower, herb and veg packets. The one I'm most intrigued by is the Egyptian beetroot, apparently it has a turnip rooted size and pushes itself out of the ground when it's ready to be picked.  Together with the 3 types (yellow, striped and white) beets I have quite an eccentric collection! Smile

By the way, was meaning to ask, about  this Chelsea Chop thing, which plants would benefit from a good pruning? Just the flowering ones or are there other ones? I've been chopping my herbs back every other week or so and that really gives them a boost, especially the mint and the wild fennel.

Oh yes, before I forget, I promissed Sis a picture of Kyra: here she is chewing away on her (very smelly) bone on her new pillow. She's gone a lot darker again since she came back from her vacation...

Looks like you will be opening your own PYO soon then Phot'sSmile, that is alot of strawberries, I picked twenty one off my plants yesterday and did feel rather pleased with myself till I read your postWink. Sounds like you will be having squashes coming out your ears Sis, I can see you making endless jars of pickle in the autumnBig Smile. Hope you have a quieter day at work today Sue and hope everyone else gets as sunny a day as me and Sis x

Morning all, it's nice and sunny here and too good to be stuck in the office today...

You were up early Eva but then you are an hour ahead of us in timeWink  Lovely pic of Kyra, I expect once she's been in the sun and the sea, her coat will get lighter again.  Have fun down the lotty today and hope you manage to get everything done that you want to but more importantly, enjoy your long weekend off workBig Smile

I'm going into work a little earlier today to finish off what I didn't get done yesterday and hope it's a bit quieter there today for me.  It's cheese and marmite today and a large piece of cake for the energySmile

    Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone, I moaned too early about the weather! It was 120 in the GH at half eight this morning before I opened the doorsSurprise

Rats Lillyrose, I can't access your photo's for some strange reasonAngry Great news about those chairs from your friend, I'm sure you'll put them to good use.

AWH Eva, Kyra looks beautifulRight Hug ha ha you forgot to mention that those beets we bought, the guy on the stand said they look like dog turds on top of the soil when they are ready, and I'd said I hope I didn't muddle them up with any 'presents' P&P might leave lying aroundWink I haven't planted mine yet either! Your curry sounds divineSmile

Hope you manage to get all that work out of the way Sue, if you go in early, maybe's they'll let you out a bit earlier?

I've just realised Richard, so does that mean Cheryl will have to do the case carrying on your trip to London? Hope you enjoy it all the same and don't get bumped by anyone.

I've got strawberry envy Phots! I never used to do very well with them. I did notice that there's loads of gooseberry's, redcurrants and blueberries waiting to ripen and do their thing! Think its going to be a bumper year for sloes tooYes

Right, I've cooled off enough, so I'm off back out, catch you all laters.

Good afternoon all, I'm soooo glad its the holiday, my energy levels are finally starting to riseBig Smile My nana has just started to share an allotment with the people next door to me so we were clearing it this morning. I think its going to be given up (the allotment next door) so my nana will be able to have it all and we can be allotment buddies!! My mum says all she willl grow is weeds which is probably true but when I go down on sunday I will do a bit more weeding for her as she helped me when I got mine last year.

Eva, I have grown some fennel plants (thery're still in seed  form) they are going to go at the front of my alloment. I might give my mints a chop too. By the way I've got two new mints too, a pineapple and banana. I may get the strawberries and cream mint as it sound interesting.

Phots my strawberries are just starting to turn and it looks like I'm set for a bumper harvest!!Yay.......

Also remember I said about the birdfeeders well I've put some pics on my blog and some pics of the birds that have come if you're intersted. I also think my baby blue tits have fledged as I haven't heard them (or seen them) I really want to see how many they have raised!

Ah well see you later, off to fix my disasterous bee border, I'm redesigning it before I get my plants for gardeners world live....

Just come in for a cool down, I am melting out thereTongue Tied. It is far too hot to go in the GH and too hot to do any gardening in the sun so that just leaves sitting in my new patio chair in the shade, what a hardship ehBig Smile. Impressive looking bird feeding station AnthonyYes, that should give you a garden full of birdsSmile. My Aunt popped round earlier with a big pot full of purple sprouting broccoli plants for me, really chuffed as I haven't grown any myself this yearSmile. Susiq, if someone can explain to me in very simple terms how to post a picture that you click on to access the whole album I will re do the pics for you.

    Good afternoon all.Smile

Scorching hot here today too. Lillyrose very briefly if you load your pics in an album on Photobucket, there are links on there that you can share your album. Have a look first and see how you go if I can help send me a PM though I will be away now tomorrow and Saturday. Glad you like my shed/summerhouse. Smile

Hope you managed to catch up with your work today Sue. You sound like a true trooper to me going in early and getting extra energy by taking in your own cake!!Wink

Lovely pic of Kyra on the cushion Eva. I was thinking of you earlier when I was in the garden watering 'Eva's Pot', your pink poppies are starting to grow well now too and I have started to feed them.Yes

You have done so well with the strawberries Phot's ours are only small and green at the moment.Embarrassed

We are not taking very much away in the form of cases Susiq as we are only staying over for the Friday night so I won't need to take much. I don't know about Cheryl though as her case is usually three times heavier than mine...haha...lolWinkYes

That will be great Anthony if you and your Nan can have tandem allotments...Big Smile

That was hot in your greenhouse early this morning Susiq, especially for 'up north'Smile  Best get those beetroot seeds sown so you can let us know if they do form like the bloke saidWink  Yes, as well as going in a bit early, I got all my work done and sneaked off a bit early too but as I had some documents to drop off at a garage on the way home, I still got home at the same time I usually do.

That's good news with your nan's lotty Anthony, with the two of you being side by side, you should be able to help each other out.  You have a good selection of birds visiting your feeders too.  Enjoy what's left of half term, my son has been spending a lot of his time out with friends.

Hope you managed to cool down ok lillyrose.  To post the links to an album, all you need to do is to copy the link location in Photobucket (the same as you did in a couple of previous posts) and you need to then activate the link.  To activate it,  highlight what you've just typed and the link symbol (looks like handcuffs just before the 'tree' symbol) lights up, click on that and then paste the link into the 'link URL' box and then click on 'insert' in the bottom left hand corner of that box and your link should then be live.

Enjoy your trip to London Richard and hope you have a safe journey there and back.
