A good morning to you all, was up at the crack of dawn today, knew it was going to be nice weather- for the entire holiday weeked apparently (don't hate me Digger, I don't control the weather) and I need to get some stuff done in the house, then a squash game and then off to the lotty to try and get on top of the weeds. Bought some fennel plug plants yesterday that need to go in. The parsnips, beets and carrots need to be thinned. And I've got a lot of sowing to do! Wow Phot's that an amazing load of strawberries you have there, how many plants do you have?! Hope you're still on leave today... Sounds like you had a lovely time with your friend Sis, and how nice of her to give you those chairs. I can't believe how much Moo has grown it won't be long till she won't be able to fit on that chair! So your Mum has finally met her match in the physio then Susiq it'll do her good to get some excercise. How is she finding her weekly outing to the care center? Good to hear to hear you're feeling a lot better! If you're working today Sue I hope it's not as busy as yesterday. I'm looking at the pile of seeds I still have to plant, and panicking slightly, I hope I can find some space for them all. I went a bit nuts and ordered 7 packets of different types of squashes, I still had 4 other packets, not even including the spaghetti ones that Sue sent me. And I can't not have sweetcorn, although I think I might just buy plug plants again this year. And then there's all the other flower, herb and veg packets. The one I'm most intrigued by is the Egyptian beetroot, apparently it has a turnip rooted size and pushes itself out of the ground when it's ready to be picked. Together with the 3 types (yellow, striped and white) beets I have quite an eccentric collection! By the way, was meaning to ask, about this Chelsea Chop thing, which plants would benefit from a good pruning? Just the flowering ones or are there other ones? I've been chopping my herbs back every other week or so and that really gives them a boost, especially the mint and the wild fennel. Oh yes, before I forget, I promissed Sis a picture of Kyra: here she is chewing away on her (very smelly) bone on her new pillow. She's gone a lot darker again since she came back from her vacation...
