Ooh Richard, I had some nice spicy burgers for dinner that had chilli in them, but I'm afraid I don't like kippersStick out tongueSmile

How big is your remote control digger Digger? if it's only a little toy one, I think the dogs would be able to dig any holes a bit quickerDevil

Glad your knuckle is a lot better MirandaSmile

Hi, The digger is a decent size and it will easily clear up the detritus, when it was snowing I used the digger to clear the path, it was okay but the tracks kept clogging in snow, that said the dogs will be quicker at digging i'm sure, but they don't much thought into where they make a dog hole.

Wow, I'm first one on the forum today, that hasn't happened in a loooong time! Smile Anyway, a sunny good morning to you all! Cool It's been cold overnight here for the last couple of nights and mornings as well. I even had to scrape the ice of the car windows yesterday when I went to work! Surprise  So it's probably a good thing I didn't make it down to the lotty as I was planning to prune the buddleia...

Now that's a cool toy to have Digger, a remote controlled version of yourself. Big Smile Have you been in the cloning shed again? Hmm

I had a bit of a surprise yesterday, I needed some spuds for dinner and went to the big pot I store them, here's what I found:

All the spuds had chitted, and how! Some of those stemmy things were over 15 cms long! Surprise I had a good giggle over that..

What are the plans for the weekend?  I hope to finally make it down to the lotty seeing that the weather is supposed to stay dry. For the rest nothing exciting planned...

    Catch you later! x

Morning all, and I'm the second one on this morningWink  It was pretty chilly here first thing but the sun is out now and beginning to warm things up quite nicely.

It must be a while since you've opened your spud pot EvaWink  I hope the weather stays nice for you over the weekend so you can get to the lottySmile

I'm now going to see if there's any more seedlings come up in the propagator so I can start some more off, and will most probably do some more weeding while it's nice out thereBig Smile

Afternoon all, I'm late on duty today, although not as late as RichardWink. Love the spuds SisSmile, would they grow if you were to plant them, I've only ever planted seed potatoesHmm. Give us a go on your digger, Digger, it sounds like great funBig Smile. How is Sally doingRight Hug. The sun has been out most of the day here too Sue, but it is still cold. I haven't done anything in the garden today, by the time I got back from Sainsburys, put the shopping away, took the dogs out again, went up my Mums, the day was gone. Hope you manage to get some lotty time over the weekend Sis. How's the knuckle today Miranda

I know how you feel lillyrose, I've had days like that and before you know it, the day is goneWink

I did get the rest of the weeding done in the back garden and now my back is feeling it but the garden certainly does look so much better.  At one point, I almost stabbed a toad that was hiding just under the soil and when I picked it up, it clung quite tightly to my fingers while I checked it over, I put it underneath some plant foliage to put it out of harm's way while I carried on with the weeding.

I did take some pics in the garden this morning before I started out there and will probably get round to loading them tomorrow.  In there is a pic of a couple of Dahlia tubers that I bought in town this morning and one of them is the exact same name as the one I was trying to get hold of in the sell-off at Chelsea last yearBig Smile

Evening everybody, i quite like blogging it's really enjoyable!

Your potatoes have shot up eva, mine are nearly ready to plant out, i cheat a little and plant my main crops a bit early so I get an early crop of them to eat! I'm also going to my allotment as well to finish edgeing my vegetable beds, not the most enjoyable job might I add, it's very tiring. I also put in a link to your blog as a worked out how to do that today.

Gardeners world is back on next week, monty dons coming back and I quite like him, I'm going to miss alys fowler though as she was my favourite presenter, (she was the person i went to see at gardeners world live)

A bit tired now so see you all later...

Good evening everyone.Embarrassed Wow I am late today.

I think you can still plant those potatoes can't you Eva though I am not so sure. We fetched the ingredients today to try your macaroons and will tell youhow they turn out. Nicola is in the kitchen all day baking so no chance to make much. I did steam a smoked gammon joint in the pressure cooker with some bay leaves though and it did taste nice even though I say so myself, there is still plenty left for sarnies Sue!

I know what you mean about the days flying by lillyrose especially when the daylight hours are still quite short.

Good to see you asj and you Anthony

Good morning everyone! Another sunny start to the day here. Yes Yesterday, I finally made it to the allotment!  Party!!! After a particularly nasty meeting I was so fed up with work I decided to jump ship and "don wellies". Best decision I made all week! Big Smile And I wasn't the only one there either, a couple of friends were making the most of the mild weather and it was really nice to catch up. The plot in much better shape than I thought, I cleared a lot of old plant material. All I have to do today is dig out the fartichokes, a bit of light weeding and dig in the manure in a couple of beds.

I just had a look at your blog Anthony, I'm very impressed with your plans, well thought out! Yes And you've obviously gotten the hang of wordpress quicker than I have, I'm still having some problems with creating pages. But that could be down to the template I chose. I'll put your link up on my blog too, will be posting there tomorrow.

I hope you and Nicola will like my recipe for the rustic macaroons Richard. I still can't get over how easy it is. Smile They come out just as good (if not better) than the expensive ones in the shops here at half the price. Just rmember they're not the fancy and lighter french ones. These are chunky and chewy.

As for the potatoes, I think 'triffids' is the right description ASJ Big Smile The stems they've put on are too long and fragile to plant I'm afraid. But I'm glad to see you back, are you feeling a bit better now?

It seems my big seed and plant order has arrived, someone in my appartment very kindly took the package from the courier but unforunately is now keeping it hostage. Or, in other words, hasn't been at home when I go to collect it. Sad
I'm still waiting for a late order but I don't think that will take long before it's here either.

Can't wait to see your pics Sue! Isn't it lovely to see new grew shoots coming through the old debris? Yes I had some very nice surprises with plants I didn't think would come back at all, but they have!

Susiq, if you're reading this, get your butt back on here, I miss your chats!  Right Hug

Big hug to you too of course Sis!  Right Hug

Morning all, cloudy dull and cold hereSad. That is a very impressive plan of your lotty Anthony Yes, I didn't realise you keep chickens too. I am looking forward to seeing the photos during the year as everything grows. I still can't believe you are so young and doing what you are, I am really impressed. I am filling my front garden with flowers this year and I am hoping to attract lots of butterflies and bees. When I cut all the overgrown shrubbery and trees back I made a pile of logs and branches in the corner by the house wall so the insects would have somewhere to liveSmile. That was a bit of luck finding the Dahlia you wanted Sue. I didn't lift any of my tubers last autumn so I hope they survived all that snow and cold we hadSurprise. Glad you managed to get to the lotty Sis, I bet you felt alot calmer after that. Hope you saved me some gammon Richard. How come I haven't got your macaroon recipe SisWink. Oh well, house work is calling so had better get on x

Hi all, The digger plan failed yesterday after it "conked out" it took six hours to re charge the battery pack! this happened because I'm a plonker and I thought it was all up and ready to go. Sally is still doing ok(ish) on her medicine, I'm hoping she will okay for a good while yet. OH shaved cecil yesterday he's now a skin head! Phoebe has a boyfriend, he lives up the lane and he is a fine chocolate labrador called "reckless", they have been very friendly and we are now hoping that Phoebe will have lots of baby labradors in 58 days or so. Today is cold and cloudy, so I won't be outside for long.

     Morning all

That is thoughtful lillyrose to keep an area for a logpile for your insects, I am sure that they will help eat the nasties in your garden.Smile
Hi Eva, Cheryl will be having a go at your macaroons today, and  I will keep you informed of developments and of course will have to force myself to have a a taste testStick out tongue. Glad you managed to get down the allotment and get a few things done. Our garden is still in a mess I am waiting for a nice day to get out there and tidy it up.Embarrassed
