The Secret Gardens of the Orchards, Dorset between Sturminster Newton and Shaftesbury on and just off the B3091 are opening for the first time on Sunday 25th July 2.00-5.00. There will be a mix of small and large gardens (some of which open for the NGS) which will include cottage gardens, wild-life gardens, gardens in progress and some wonderful views over the Blackmore Vale.
Pond dipping, tree rubbing and a nature hunt as well as some lovely home made teas at Bowling Green Farm will be available.
Entrance ticket is £4 available at the layby with the phone box on the right if coming from Shaftesbury, left from Sturminster. A draw of the entrance ticket will happen at 4.30.
All proceeds will go the the OCA (Orchard Community Association), funds which improve the environment and amenities with our local villages.

Hi Tina, Is there a website for the Orchard Community
Association? I can't find one - if you posted a link from google maps pointing to the event, that would also be useful. Thanks,
Ed

Dear Ed
We only set the charity up last year when I opened my garden for the NGS and I do not know how to post a link from google maps. The event is in East Orchard and other neighbouring villages around the B3091 between Shaftesbury an Sturminster. We are selling tickets for the event in the lay-by ouside/ between The Old School and Old Vicarage, East Orchard and will be giving out maps to the other gardens on the day we are opening.

When I looked at google maps, if you type in my postode SP7 0BA, there is an A just above Ethos and this shows my neighbours house where we will be selling the tickets for our event.

Would this be the spot? When you go to google maps, there are 3 options listed in the blue bar, right at the top of the map. Click on the word "link" and copy the link code from the top line, which is called "Paste link in email or IM" In this case, it looks like this: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=SP7+0BA&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Shaftesbury,+Dorset+SP7+0BA,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&ei=9z87TOrlCoSdlgfm7IHWBw&ved=0CBcQ8gEwAA&ll=50.964211,-2.239323&spn=0.005135,0.01929&z=16
You can then paste that code for the link into any email you send, simple as that!
