    Hello

I would like to do a distance learning course but can't decide whether to go direct to the RHS Advanced certificate?  Common sense says to start at the beginning on the Level 2 but then someone has advised me its very doable to go straight to Advanced.  I have time to study and have an award winning allotment but other than that my horticulture experience is not vast.  But I'm a fast learner and very keen.....Any and all advice gratefully received.  Also if anyone has experience of the current RHS Distance Learning providers that would be great too.

    Thank you.

The Level 2 is very doable, but there is also a lot packed in so unless you're an experienced gardener with a decent background in biology/botany and with a good level of plant knowledge, then you might want to do the Level 2 as a warm up. It's also a very enjoyable and interesting course; I loved every minute of the one I did.

I would also suggest starting with the Level 2. I gained my Btec first and ND in horticulture before I did the Level 2, and I would say that the qualification is some where between the two. The exam is on a vast range of horticultural situations from amenity to commercal.

    Enjoy your course
