I've just looked at the pictures and notice that when you hovver the mouse over each picture, the name of each plant shows up on the screen.  Either someone has emailed you directly with the answers or you already knew the names of them.

Just one to point out - the one named Viburnum tinum should be Viburnum tinus.

The second one down has the wrong label on it. It's alder not dogwood.

Hmmm, the picture for plant 14 has been taken from my website... http://www.wildchicken.com/nature/garden/nature_200_039.htm

Unfortunately the names that appear on the pics are not correct.eg.

    2. in not a dogwood, it is Alnus sp. An alder.

17 Is  Viburnum  opulus. Common name Guelder rose.

I would recommend checking all the spellings.

Sorry Miranda. I was busy making notes. I did not see  that you had posted.

I feel this is a very odd post.

Is this a teacher/lecturer asking advice or a student expecting us to help with homework?

I would be very hard pushed to id the pics in 9. 13. 15. as the quality of the images are so poor.

If it is to teach botany/id skills then more pics of each plant need to be given. eg pic 2. You really need a good pic of the leaves and a good pic of the cones/ catkins The flowers of the Escallonia are just impossible to recognise, unless you are given a clue.

Why add a spring flowering Crocus  No. 4,when most other pics are taken in the Autumn. There are Crocus that flower in the Autumn, but not this one.

What is this aiming to teach????

    We crossed Silver surfer.

It does seem odd. Shouldn't the students be finding these things out for themselves, rather than asking someone else to provide the answers?

That doesn't surprise me Miranda.  A lot of those photos in the original post are copied off the web and some have been edited, hence the poor quality of some of them.
