What is wrong with your rose Laura? Did you mean to post a photo? If so here are instructions:-

I have just noticed the 'no flowers' on the header. Doh!!!

Roses are very 'hungry'. It's too late this year but next spring give it a good feed or add well rotted manure as a mulch. That should stimulate flowers.

Thanks, BB.  That was to be my next 'try'.  Should the well-rotted manure go on next spring or now?  I seem to remember my grandfather adding manure as a 'slow-release' in the autumn / winter.

I would put it on in the spring. It very quickly puts nutrients into the soil and feeds the rose. Good Luck

A relatively new customer of mine has a climbing rose that she said had never flowered since she planted it three years ago. On 14 Sept I cleared all the grass and weeds away from its stem, mixed some compost and rose feed (high potash) in with the soil to a depth of 3 or 4 inches, and gave it a real thorough soaking. I soaked it again a week later (September was really dry, and it's planted next to a mature cedar). By 5th October it had half a dozen flowers on it. As in the south of England climbing roses often flower into December the season isn't quite over. I think plenty of water can make a big difference and can encourage flowering. I'd hesitate to feed a rose now as it might stimulate new growth which wouldn't have a chance to ripen and would be very vulnerable in cold weather. Alex

     Hi

Wedding Day is a rambler, not a climber. as such it flowers on last year's wood. If it is only one year old I am not surprised there are no flowers.  As long as you look after it and follow all the good advice above it will flower in May or early June 2010.  For more info on rambling roses and Wedding Day in particular take a look here

    Enjoy it next year

    Lo
