Hi Tammy,
I've grown Crown Prince for the last 3 years and it does run riot. I think it might depend on how much plant food is available to the plant. The first year I cut the tips out after about 3 squash on any growing trailer but eventually I just let them get on with it and mow them off when they start growing over the lawn or cut them off when they encroach on other veggies. I've always had good crops. I've seen it growing in Africa too so it is obviously very versatile. I think it's the best squash there is for growing in the UK for the table.

Squashes are very clever and have a self-limiting mechanism to prevent them making too many fruits and expending too much energy. So most squash and pumpkin plants will only produce 1,2 or maybe 3 fruits.
Don't worry about pinching out any extra fruits,as you will probably find they will shrivel and drop off of their own accord.
Hope this helps!
