The pic is a bit too small Astrantia00, any chance of a larger pic please, or can you remember what seeds you sowed?

It looks a bit like basil, butas Sue says, it's hard to tell.

Do the leaves smell of anything?

Haven't got a clue Astrantia00, but they do look nice and healthy. Are they (more) likely to be veg or flower?  I know that sounds a daft question now I read it back, but you know what I mean. They look a little like our Cape Gooseberries did before they took over half of the GH here! Better definition picture would be good.

Certainly looks like one of the basils. Can you remember sowing any?  Of course, if it is, the smell would immediately identify it.

Oh - no offence intended re "can you remember" - I have reached the age of "why am I in this room?" so tend to expect everyone else to be in the same boat!

    Astrantia,

I agree with several of the other replies - they do look very like Basil, and as everyone says, they will smell very distinctive.

Hi Sue and everyone else thank you so much for trying to help,

I will try and take a closer photo tomorrow

I'm afraid I cannot remember what plants I did sew!!!

The ones I remember have come through.

But me thinks its not Basil!

I did plant Basil but only one pot! My daughter has that.

I know where you are coming from with the basil bit but they are more like gardenia leaves shiny and slow growing. very slow!

But I can't remember what I purchased now.

Yes , my brain doesn't work very well either.

In fact do I have a brain?

They should be flowers rather than veggies though!

They are all very healthy and I have about five pots of them.

Thanks so much and I will definately photo them again tomorrow.

Just been to check and they do not smell !

    So not Basil.

The  leaves are slightly leathery also,  although more elongated than Gardenias.

    However piccys tomorrow.

I do know plants quite well and its certainly a mystery!

Keeps me on my toes tthough!

    Goodnight everyone and many thanks.

    Hi Everyone

I did a quick check on plants bought through Ebay in early Spring and maybe one of these two Varieties that may well be the unidentified plants.

    1) Lobelia valida

    2) Grewia Caffra   (Lavender star flower)

Not sure which is it is yet!

But hopefully you talented folk know the answer?

If anyone would like a plant please let me know and I will gladly send you one as a ' thank you ' for helping me.

I don't know Astrantia.  This is a long shot but did you sow any chilli or pepper seeds?

Not to worry astrantia, we all learned somewhere and I've certainly learned a lot from mistakes I've made and some of them I still repeatSmile

They do look like chillies - very healthy ones too, so you're doing something right.

I confess to sometimes forgetting to label and then not being sure what I'm growing until the plants get well beyond the seedling stage.
