Very confusing !

Are you looking for the Patens species seed or from cultivated varieties?

Thankyou!!.....I too have 'the president'...and yes! in my searches too it kept coming up as Clematis patens.......The 'Manshuu Ki does look quite promising though ,as it is a selection from species patens,so if i have no luck in tracking down any seeds i shall just have to plumb for buying this plant...thankyou for taking the time and trouble to reply,i do appreciate it......jamie

Well it seems as though you know exactly what you are doing my friend, but as you already know, the species seed are like hens teeth,to find.
Try and get yourself well connected if you are serious about breeding there are some very knowledgeable clematarians in the UK who have experience in what you are wanting to do, you may have to venture further afield for species seeds.
