I have a 3 year old plum tree and last year it produced quite a few fruit and this year it started to look promising with lots of fruit forming but i noticed at the weekend that the fruits have shrivelled and become black and that the leaves look like they have died (changed from green to yellow and gone a bit curly)  but are still on the tree, at first i thought it was because we had had several days without rain but even with a good soaking it didnt help,

    Any advice please?

Are there any isects on the leaves?

Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

Did you prune the tree at any point; if so, when?

    Could be fireblight?

    Hi

no, no insects on the leaves although some of the leaves have got small holes in them so it looks like something has nibbled them.

The tree looks in a worse state today, it actually looks dead now.

and no, i have never pruned it.
