    Hi All,

Can anyone help advise me when I should harvest my radishes?  You can see picture of them here; as you can see, some are poking up a bit - can anyone help me?

     Thanks,

     Callum

Harvest every second one so you leave room for the others to grow a bit.  They're best eaten small though as they can get woody if you let them grow too big.

     Hi Callum,

Radishes are my favourite crop after asparagus (which is hard work for a brief but satisfying return). The best radishes I have ever grown have been this years crop of `Alan Titchmarsh Organic`. Started in late November in the new greenhouse down the allotment, these have been perfect and quick growing, first crop in March. I tried them outside too starting in March and they were a bit less successful due to slugs etc, but still great tasting and really good colour and shape.
Earth them up as they grow, as they tend to push themselves up out of a light soil. Thin them out as suggested, leaving 1 every 3 inches for bigger globes but, as above, they can get woody.

    Regards, Roger H.

I harvest my radishes when I'm making a salad, or sometimes I harvest them when I want to eat one.

If you use them when they are big enough you won't go far wrong.
