A while ago, a few of us had the idea that it might be nice to arrange a day for posters to meet up - a few have already met and many of us already exchange seeds and plants, so it might be fun to meet in the Real World. The Birmingham Botanical Garden was mentioned, being fairly central. It's a lovely place and not difficult to get to.

    Anyone interested?

We could all bring a home grown picnic.

Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

    That's a good idea, Phot's.

Just wanted to say that everyone, old posters and new, would be welcome at this meet-up, so don't be shy Smile

I've spent ages looking around the website it's a good site and it looks like it will be a wonderful day out indeed, so yes everyone should come along and meet up, who else is joining in the friendly fun? or who is going to be a grumpy old misery guts and refuse to join in the fun?

I know it will be a nice day out judging by the website and of course it will be greatly enhanced by the company that we'll be in.

Good stuff, Lennie. The more the merrier Smile

I was also brought up just outside Birmingham and as children we were taken to the gardens on Saturdays for years - well it seemed like years, maybe it wasn't. I always loved it there and am looking forward to seeing it again.

I would love to meet up - but if its after 1st June, I'm stuck (will be house bound for several weeks) cos I pick the new puppy up on that day - funnily enough from just outside Birmingham!!! I'll be staying at a friends there on Sunday 31st May. Has anyone picked a date yet???

We haven't picked a date yet, Susiq. Be nice if  you could make it. If I started this thread yesterday, how long should we give people to say if they want to come along, do you think?

Oh, I hope you don't think I'm grumpy if I can't make it digger - it's just that my swimming skills would need some work! Wink   Seriously though I think it's a grand idea but I doubt if I'll be able to afford flights without months of notice.  I hope you go ahead though and have a great time. Big Smile

Just an idea, but why not make this into an official event, like a picnic for plant lovers at BBG. Im sure BBG would love to help out as its RHS related.

Just an idea....maybe for the future! Smile

It's a shame you're so far away, Anemone!

That's an idea, Lennie. What would the advantages be, do you think?

    Linnea, that makes sense.

Okay, how about the nearest Saturday to a month from now - Saturday, the 20th of June.
