All my veg is being grown in containers!
Carrots - I'm growing them in boxes. I'm thinking of using the old compost from flower pots, sieved and warmed in my coldframe.
I'm guessing that the deepth will dictate the length of my carrots. Going for half early (Nantes) and half late (Autumn King) varieties.
Any thoughts?

im also looking at growing carrots in containers. my containers are about 18 inches deep. your early nantes should be fine in containers as they are a short rooted variety anyway. im looking at growing chantenay. let us know how you get on.

When I had my leg in plaster I had Tesco's deliever my food. I now have 5 of their plastic boxes 2ft by 1.5ft. 1ft deep. Thought I might need to raise the sides by using wood panels.
Will let you know how it goes.

hi, im new on here, and also new to vegetable growing!
I am only going to try and grow my carrots (autumn king) and also beetroot in a very large plant pot/container bought from wilkinsons(!) as i only have a lawn and a small greenhouse in my garden, no soil. so hopefully it will go ok!

I had some old seed compost left over and used that to grow carrots in, they came up fine.
