Need help to ID the following plant please

I bought some bulbs last year which the box said came from South Africa, i think it said they were irises but not sure. Does anyone know what they are called as I would like to get some more but don't know what they are?  Many thanks

  Harlow Carr Gardeners Location: Joined on: 02 Jun 2008 Posts: 365	Reply | Contact   Hi there, These gorgeous bulbs are Gladiolus callianthus/ or Acidanthera, they are from Ethiopia.  They are not reliably hardy, so better in pots which you can overwinter dry in a glasshouse.
