Well, at last we nearly have all my Crocosmia sorted out and ready for the big bloom in July/August......... I love this time of year when all the plants start shooting, but the wait for the flowers seems to go on and on. Is there anyone else on here that loves Crocosmia......???? I am the NCCPG National Collection Holder of Crocosmia... Crocosmia 'Elegance' Mark

"Is there anyone else on here that loves Crocosmia......????"
I like them! The leaves look pretty good for quite a long time, the flowers are lovely and some of them produce good seedheads too. They're also easy to grow (mine are in a bit of dry poor soiul, but still look nice and healthy) and they can be divided up and spread around and there's a range of colours ... Can't think of anything against them really.
I can't see the pictures now (blocked on the system at work) but I'll take a look later.

Nice pics Mr Crocosmia. I bought Crocosmia 'Limpopo' last year whilst on holiday in Lincolnshire, the leaves are well on their way up and have so far missed out on being squashed by the feet of our four legged houseguest, other plants in that bed haven't been quite so lucky though.

I can see the pics now - very nice! I was just wondering; are there any white ones? Most plants seem to have a white form, but I've never seen a white Crocosmia.

Hi Sue1002.......... Oh, what part of Lincolnshire was that....????? Oh those 4 legged houseguests!!!!! I have the same problem here, but they are learning very fast!! Hi Phot's-Moll............. Noooooooooooo there is no White Crocosmia, people have tried to breed one, but no luck. Crocosmia range from pale Yellow to Orange to Deep Red, and mixtures of all of them.

We were holidaying in Skegness and on one of the days I met up with another board member as she lived in the north of the county at the time, we met up at Goltho House, just outside Wragby and had a lovely day out and that was where I bought the Crocosmia (and a Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm'). Our 4 legged houseguest lives next door and is staying with us for a week and she is not used to a garden with plants in it, her mother though was trained right from the start not to go into the flowerbeds, but sometimes she forgets...

I wonder why? It's not a problem though as there are plenty of other white flowers. I've got 'Lucifer' (I think)
