After reading sue1002,'s post that the night time temperatures are going to be cold i checked on the met office 5 day forecast and we are to expect a ground frost here tonight and for the next three nights? it is cooler but it doesn't feel cold enough to freeze, but I have decided to err on the side of caution and i have just spent the last half an hour putting all my tender plants back inside their respective greenhouses. For the last few nights as things have been out hardening off I have been using horticultural fleece to cover things, because i couldn't be bothered taking it all in and out every day/night. I haven't lit the parrafin heater or set the frost guard on the electric heater because things should be okay inside (i hope). what a swizz I was really hoping that we had seen the last of any really harsh weather. This part of the world is a really harsh and unforgiving place the climate really is my enemy today has been wet and cold about 8 degrees celsius but with the gusty wind it felt more like 5 degrees. I do hope that my garden will shrug off any night frosts. I shall be seriously hacked off if the frost damages my garden or my flowers on the apple trees.

It's definitely a bit colder out there right now but a bit warmer here than where you are digger, all my plants have already been planted out but should survive the lower night temperatures forecast for during the week. I'm hoping after last week being hot that it wasn't our only summer.

Ha, typical! I'm away for a couple of days and can't do anything about my precious plants that I moved outside because some bright spark at the Met Office said in early May we'd seen the last of the frosts!
Can I sue them?

I was shocked to hear about night frosts, if you can establish that the met gave you dodgy advice then sue them, having said that figwort if the met office were sued every time they mislead us they would be seriously out of pocket by now, I reckon they could be sued at least twice a week.

We didn't get frosts last night, but I am not risking any of the tender plants out just yet.

All my plants are outside - I think I'll be safe from frost here.
Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

We have had cold nights but none of the predicted frosts, which is just as well because I wnet to bed early and didn't put my plants back into their respective greenhouses.
