I believe that there is (or was) a variety of Rose called Hudson. I have searched the internet and found reference to it on http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=32351
Sadly we have just lost our little dog 'Hudson' who enriched our lives and kept us company for the last seventeen and half years and would dearly love to plant one of these roses in his memory.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who knows where we might be able to obtain this rose? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Andrew & Maria

Planting something in a pet or a person's memory is a nice idea.
Even if you don't find that variety, you could still plant something. I believe there's one called 'Little Pet', or if you've got a wild area you could go for a dog rose. If you check out some plant names, you might find something appropriate (if your dog was anything like mine, 'Little Rascal' would be a good choice!)
Whether you think you can do a thing, or think you cannot, you are right.

Sorry to hear about your wee dog, AndyB, it's heartbreaking to lose a pet, and what a nice idea to plant a rose for him. I haven't seen a rose "Hudson", though there is one called "Henry Hudson" after the English explorer. It's a lovely white rugosa rose, which would maybe be appropriate if your Hudson liked to explore, rabbit holes and woodlands, for instance?
