Don't forget to fill out our questionnaire at http://www.rhs.org.uk/scienceweek We will publicise the results of the questionnaire in March 2005, and giving our verdict on which are fact, and which are fiction, based on sound horticultural science!

I notice on the questionnaire you mention about tea and houseplants. I feed my African Violet dregs of tea from time to time, because a friend said it was good for them - I haven't tried other house plants though but the African Violet still seems to be doing well.

    Hello

Tomatoes, citrus fruit peel, onions.  Earthworms find all these too acidic.

Of course, don't forget to 'balance' the greens and browns.

I agree - balance is a key issue. I've completed the survey, best of luck with your findings.
